  • 4k with a NVIDIA GTX970 not possible?

in short: worked great with PBFX2.

Now in PBFX3 default resolution is 1920 x 1080. Trying to change to 4k does not work for me, App freezes a bit and I cannot press accept.

Well, seems to be aswered in itself, just wanted to ask ZEN, if the graphic card is really too weak or if there's something to make it work.

anybody an idea for this? Because each table now looks much worse than in PBFX2, which makes it completely uninteresting to switch to FX3

And there is also some sort of grain on any texture, like a comic book drawing style.

    All in all really ugly

      4K with GTX 1050

The same for me ( GTX 1050 on a PC windows 7 inside a pinball cabinet). It works perfectly with PFX2 in 4K with high set up, but PFX3 works fine only with 1920 x 1080 resolution. I tried a lot of set up between Nvidia pannel controler and PFX3. Nothing to do, PFX3 works well only in 1920 x 1080 with low set up.

I could set it to 4k by very fast pressing the correct buttons on the keyboard. Now I have 4k, but some tables show a heavy stutter (Jaws, ET, Fear Itself). Really bad.

A GTX1050 is definitely too weak for real 4K. Simple graphics with low-resolution textures and few other effects may work, but with high-resolution textures and many shaders, this GPU is simply overwhelmed at 4K. For comparison, a GTX760 has more power than the GTX1050. And this GPU is already 2 generations old. A GTX970 or GTX1060 should be the minimum. The difference between GTX1050 and GTX1060 is not 10, as it seems to be, it is a doubling of power.

sorry I have to bring this thread back to attention.
            I saw, I never wrote I use a Nvidia GTX970:

            so my question:

anybody with a GTX970 and a 4k TV has good results with PBFX3 out there?
