The "Score Booster" wizard power is far too strong and will harm the game

Oh and vaguely back on topic, I understand the appeal of score bonus and rewind but... Slow motion? Really? The whole key to learning the shots is learning the timing. If you use slow motion to make a shot, you'll only learn how to play it in slow motion... and what use is that to anyone?

I don't see how it differs that much. Score boost gives you a false score for your achievement. Rewind presumably corrects a mistake and slo mo gives you an edge in a crucial moment. There are plenty of modes that you need to complete on a table to obtain wizard so rather clear one with slo mo to save opening it and replaying.

Doesn't mean you can't do the shot, I can do most shots but still miss often enough with a little bit of pressure piled on!

But....I'm theorising. I'm playing classic! Except if they sort out Match ups a bit better then I'll use the skills if needed.

Actuallly, that's not really much of a joke. That's why I like pinball. But I'll have to check my privacy settings next time I'm on my PS4. Might be on 'friends of friends only' which cuts out all the random spam.

Just to be clear, the original poster of this thread was Deimos, not me; my 'solution' response was to that post. I'm one who's not bothered, I certainly don't feel the need for help. I'll be sticking to Classic most of the time I think, and getting my buzz by just chilling out and getting into the zone occasionally.
All I play is classic unless im in tournament mode where its necessary to live up to whatever they post. So, its absolutely necessary to do the trials and up your game and have the things we both hate, but if you want to be competitive in tournament you have to have those wizard powers.
        Accomplishments in real life

        1. Rolled a star wars machine................ie played over 99 levels and rolled it back to level 1.
        2. Rolled Nintendo punch out, several times, same quarter.
        3. Played an entire game of dragons lair and completed it and won while blindfolded.

I always like these threads, a lot of balancing tweaks and changes can come from player feedback.

We will filter your points into the discussion.

What I've found so far is that for the one-ball challenge, I tend to use the rewind wizard power because my reasoning is that I'll score more in the long run by being able to make a couple of miraculous saves, whereas for the other two - 5 minutes and survival, score booster is absolutely the only wizard power remotely worth considering. I wish it were easier to switch between the powers (i.e. if you start a mode up and forget to make that change you wanted before the table loads).

Last night I was pondering the wizard powers that Zen didn't have time to put into the game for release.

            * Momentum freeze: all balls stop dead on the table, regardless of how fast they are or where they are. Gravity then naturally takes over as if nothing was unusual

            * Countdown freeze: the countdown clocks stop or slow to a crawl, giving you extra time to complete a mission, say, make a crucial combo or score a higher jackpot, or...

            * Nudge freely: while holding the wizard power (and reducing its clock) nudges are free from penalty.

Considering I prefer classic play, I'm not sure where I'm even going with this.

In my opinion, the key to double score is knowing the values and triggers of high scores on the table and activating it there. However, I do agree that it should have limits, such as not affecting scores given that aren't given by a direct shot. I.E. The bouns given at the of Midnight Madness on Sorcerer's Lair. Seriously, if you know when those points trigger, you can break the table. Another thing that can theoretically be done is that double score and the final 30 second score boost stack in Matchup (having double score active in the last 30 seconds quadruples the points). I dunno if this is intended or not, but nerfing that may help a bit.

Distance traveled is kind of silly, but I found it useful the Survival Challenge on X-men. Most of the other bonuses were useless or even detrimental on that one

As someone who would prefer to play Classic, but wants to unlock the collectibles, could it be changed to where that mode just upgrades the bonuses? Otherwise, I can’t get the stars needed to unlock the all of the pics
Tables completed: Ms Splosion Man, Spiderman, BioLab, Captain America, Empire Strikes Back, The Avengers, Wolverine, World War Hulk, Sorcerer's Lair, Fantastic Four, Blade, X-Men, Thor, Moon Knight, Infinity Gauntlet, Super League Football, Starfighter Assault, Han Solo
Billionaire's Club: Spider-Man, World War Hulk, The Avengers, Sorcerer's Lair, Empire Strikes Back, Captain America, Ms. Splosion Man, Han Solo

Theres a classic more for a reason - even ground for everyone though of course the playing field is not level in tournaments which allow score boost. I don't mind it really though you get a massive amount of time with it upgraded to get those whopper of scores. It's a casual mode though and should remain, like I said we've classic more for the hardcore.

I currently have 2,350,000,000 on marvels women of champions and still on ball one with one extra ball waiting. Oh, on ball one if you break a billion it actually says 1 billion congratulations and on your first ball or something to that affect. I recorded it but it was playing two voice tracks at the same time. Didnt say anything at two billion.

Nice. It's cool that it gives some sort of acknowledgement for getting a billion on your first ball. Hopefully someday I'll have the skill to get that message myself.

Wow. zen powerups totally break fish tales.

can you say 2.4 billion super jackpots with score boost and multiball boost? (save the score boost for when you base superjackpot gets high.)

even without score boost, i broke 30 billion for number 3.

At least at Medieval Madness the score boost doesn´t work properly. I was able to double Battle for the Kingdom only once in a 99 Billion game. Tried many different timings for the launch. Same in the Fish Tales beta...

I think its part of the fun of the Zen effects. Which one will you use? See, i myself having more fun rewinding than boosting score. If you want it maxed, work your way on it.
