  • matchup mode part 2

after a patch we now have higher scores to beat, which is a nice idea, sadly it`s messed up.if the target scores are to difficult too beat, just give up or loose a few games and the target scores will be low again. brilliant move Zen,congrats for messing this up even more.

The matches start up easy and you progress based probably on an average of your scoring ability. (Clearly a guess on my part) and as you begin to lose they simply readjust the system and put you into a more suitable assortment of players to pit your abilities against. I mean what is the alternative? Continue putting you against opponents you have repeatedly lost to and then have everyone lose, or worse even still read all the posts in here about how the system is unfair?

I think a truly fair system would be to allow us to dial up a range of players in our known skill. Say for example someone knows they can get 5mil in 3 minutes they would dial up someone slightly lower than that. If they win they get 20 points If they lose they lose 20 the next tier are the people able to beat 10mil and if they win they get 40 and if they lose they lose 40 and so on. Sadly though this would obviously benefit those who do nothing but play pinball all day and turn away a lot of novice players who now feel they have a chance to slowly learn each table.

as it is right now,you basically make things harder for yourself if you are putting up a highscore and that shows a flawed system. i think the problem is fixable with a bit more finetuning, let`s see what the future brings.
