Why no cross-buy from Wii U?

If you bought tables on PS3, they were free on PS4 and VITA.
If you bought tables on 360, you got Xbox One and Win 10 versions too.

    Switch, (Xbox One X 11.TB), (PS4 4.5TB) (Wii U 380.GB) (Xbox 360 1.4TB) (PS3 750.GB) (Gaming PC + Steam Link + NVIDIA Shield TV)

Thanks V3ntilator, I had the same question.

Probably no cross buy as Nintendo doesn't support that.

@McLovin: When will the new tableset come to PS4/XBOX/etc? Also mid-november?

3DS and Wii U supported cross-buy on games and DLC.

They were using the same shop. Does the Switch use the same shop as WiiU and 3DS?
Can you purchase Zelda on the WiiU and then download it as well on the Switch?

              Great news

Chuffed to bits with this announcement , as for expecting the tables to come free , I have had this joy in previous carnations of playstation , however , I have had more than my monies worth of £2.50 a table on the wii u and cannot expect the developers to continually give away their tables which on a new format would have taken time , effort and money to do this.
Rest assured , although probably wont buy all at once , this will be a drip feed of content on my switch and I for one cannot wait to play in the vertical mode which has been missing in all other formats.
              Roll on the 14th November

I’m excited for this. I hope the game gets support and additional tables and not fall behind other platforms. I’ll download this day 1 on the Switch.

I'll take whatever they have ready at this time. The rest will come in due time, meanwhile there is plenty of variety on offer here to hold my attention for months.

Really interested to see what control schemes will be available for vertical mode. I can imagine a few scenarios:

                    - leaving one joycon on and playing it like a giant gameboy
                    - using a third party kickstand/tripod and playing with two joycon
                    - using a third party kickstand/tripod and playing with one joycon / pro controller
                    - playing with NO controller and using it like a cell phone (touchscreen controls)

                    What else could there be?

                      @amlbuzzer 14th? They haven't listed a release date yet.

I would love to have this on my Switch but really how many times do they expect us to keep rebuying tables. And for the same old half ass'd version which just appears like an after thought and won't be comparable to other platforms. There isn't enough games out for the Switch so I guess most people will eat any $hit their given.

I'm also tired of rebuying tables as i bought tables on 5 separate systems already which have no cross-buy between.

Wii U, Steam, Xbox x, Playstation x and Android. I even have the few released on 3DS.

I would not re-buy the tables on Switch, and i already have the tables on VITA and Android so i have them portable.

I have two switches, bought one for each kid and so far have sorta kept one. lol, but doubt I will be repurchasing all the tables, yet again. This needs to be addressed. Kinda getting screwed all the time sucks.

The link provided tells you little to nothing. Supposedly being released November 14.
