Classic input style bug

When using v1.04 you can input your scores the old-fashioned way. This looks a lot better then the PS4 text-input screen. But it seems there is a small bug: You can browse through the letters using the left jostick and by using R1/L1. But, a press will move a letter, but releasing will also move a letter. Normally, pushing & releasing would only move one letter.
Or is this a feature?

But if they want to make it Fast Scrolling, then you'd expect the scroll to continue while keeping L1/R1 pressed.
It also doesn't mach up with how it worked on ZP2.
