  • Mode/mission Skip

Something I’d like to see is the ability to just outright skip a mode, instead of having to sit there and wait for it to expire if you don’t want to engage in it
The example for me right now is Point Rain on the Clone Wars table. Every single time that mode gets started and I try to do something with it, I lose a ball. I’ve learned to just try to trap it and wait the minute, but that’s boring
The At At mode in Empire is even worse
Tables completed: Ms Splosion Man, Spiderman, BioLab, Captain America, Empire Strikes Back, The Avengers, Wolverine, World War Hulk, Sorcerer's Lair, Fantastic Four, Blade, X-Men, Thor, Moon Knight, Infinity Gauntlet, Super League Football, Starfighter Assault, Han Solo
Billionaire's Club: Spider-Man, World War Hulk, The Avengers, Sorcerer's Lair, Empire Strikes Back, Captain America, Ms. Splosion Man, Han Solo

Some of the modes are detrimental to the player and just being able to opt out of them would hamper the game experience and nullify the experience one gets by selectively not shooting randomly and bipassing levels on purpose IMO.
    Accomplishments in real life

    1. Rolled a star wars machine................ie played over 99 levels and rolled it back to level 1.
    2. Rolled Nintendo punch out, several times, same quarter.
    3. Played an entire game of dragons lair and completed it and won while blindfolded.

What would life be like if we could just opt out of all the bad girl friends and family hardships................sure, easier, but those experiences are what shape you into who you become................good or bad and believe me when I tell you that bad experiences are the ones that shape you the most and train you to make better selections and decisions. Bad experiences are hard, but necessary to grow. Life sometimes sucks..............similarly a game experience is not always perfect otherwise we would all have number one scores. A game is what it is and just being able to opt out of portions of it would be akin to just being able to rewind or fast forward your own life and change the outcome.........................we have wizard powers for that. All games have chance and taking the chance away ruins the game.

How many modes would you say are truly meant to be detrimental?

I would agree with you if a mode is activated as a sort of punishment for doing something wrong. But the one I can think of off hand is Roar of the Kraken on the secrets of the Deep table
The two that I listed don’t really fit that description; they’re generally natural progressions.
Point Rain actually can give a ton of points, it’s just that the ship often really screws things up. The At At Assault is just poorly balanced in my opinion

I would say my usage of the word detrimental was poorly thought out when the reality is that the vast majority of missions, if given the opportunity to opt out of are just either straight up boring or offer far too little point value to play. I mean, If I'm playing spiderman and spamming the jj loop and on loop 110 and potentially make over 100 million and growing per loop why do I want to fight goblin or doc oc for a mere few million. This argument to me seems fair, but, again it cheapens the game experience to me to just be able to opt out of missions and contributes along with wizard powers to make what I felt was an incredible truly unique pinball experience something that no longer feels like real pinball. I think if they do consider implementing your suggestion it should only be available after wizard mode is achieved, but that's just my opinion.
