  • Can Zen Collaborate with a Real Pinball Manufacturer??

I mentioned this in another thread, but thought I'd make it alone to stand out more, but Zen I think you need to collaborate with a real Pinball Manufacturer because I think Son of Zeus needs to be made into a real pinball machine (obviously without the animations).

Four manufacturers making machines at the moment are:

    - Stern Pinball
    - Spooky Pinball
    - Jersey Jack Pinball
    - Chicago Gaming Company

Spooky would probably be your best chance in having this made, but JJP would be the best quality.

Can you please have some talks with them? I would buy a real Son of Zeus (especially if it were widebody).

Oh, and if this happens, you need to get Matt Berry to do the callouts (in the voice of his character in The IT Crowd).

    Hey there,
    that's an awesome idea!
The future of this project is kind of uncertain right now but it always worth a try!

Your love for Son of Zeus in all honor, but what would a real machine be without Chronos, Stymphalian Birds and the Storm? Zeus' flashy lightnings? Petrified and molten balls? Or Hercules' epic return from the Underworld? I don't think this could be realized in a satisfying manner, as this table in particular lives from its grand panorama and stunning visual effects.
Uhm and would you also buy 1000 machines? "Especially" if they were wide-bodied? And what would be Zen's gain if you did? They can sell the license at best. Zen pinball franchise. It's entirely up to the manufacturers whether they're interested. Am sure they don't really lack ideas themselves either...
Honestly, Zen should stick to what they're best at: Excellent 'Video pinball' that's ahead of other companies' try-their-best 'pinball simulations' by miles! Because it's about the fun not some restricting realism that can never be achieved anyway. Maybe with future's technology... but who on future earth would wanna play a century-old virtual table? Entertainment will be a completely different dimension then.
Sorry for being blunt and to burst your bubble, and thanks for your suggestion anyway, but coming to think of it seriously, the cabinet mode seems to be the most reasonable approach here.

Chronos could easily work IRL in my opinion. Just think about Rudy on Fun House or Red and Ted on Roadshow. Just needs plus one mechanic that moves the head up and down. The birds could work too but needs a redesign, they could open from the sidewalls as cardboards. The storm could work too as light effects only. There are possibilities to do all the stuff just need some rethink.

            +1

As long as the geometry is right and all the modes can be achieved, then most of the animations can be mechanised or as mentioned, done with lighting, which I admit would be costly. That's why I said JJP would be the ultimate manufacturer as they won't skimp, but it would be a costly machine.

And yes I thought Rudy when I first got Chronos.

Edit: and magnets... it needs magnets

How 'bout a compromise then? My PS PinSim is nearly complete, so how 'bout you make Son of Zeus a PSVR table? Pretty please!!
