  • Long loading times

I first started playing Zen pinball 2 on my ps3 maaany years ago, and when I found out there was an repolished game for my ps4 I just had to get it. I was really impressed and happy with the way Pinball FX3 had improved on most aspects of the game I loved to play.

The only issue I've had so far with the game is that every time I've finished playing and entered my name for the local highscore I am forced to stare at a loading screen (presumably for the online score to register), sometimes for up to 30 seconds - something I never experienced on the old game. I was having a hard time thinking the problem was with my connection since I haven't had any issues with my network in any other situations, so I went searching on various forums and it appears the issue is widespread. Many people are having the same annoying problem with long loading times after finishing their game on a table, and it appears on many different platforms (Xbox, PC, PS4), which hints (to me at least) that it's most probably a server side issue.

On the steam community forums on the 29th of december 2017 a developer (Akos) said that it is a known issue probably related to "the implementation of the Classic Initial Input" and that the programmers were working on a fix. Now it's been several months without a word from anyone, and the issue persists, and it's a shame because I love the game. But to avoid the ridiculously long load times I have to force a restart of the game without the scores registering and I can't understand why it has to be like this. So now I'm turning to the proper forums dedicated to the game - are there any news for us who are finding it less and less enjoyable to play, simply due to an issue that for a layman should be very easy to sort out.

    Thanks in advance

I thought this was just the Switch version but I see it's a wider problem. It seems ever since the Jurassic Park tables load times have doubled on all tables. I though it was just the way it was going to be from now on.

I'm playing on Xbox One X and can confirm that the load times are very long. They were really short for a while there, about 3 months or so ago, but now they have at least doubled. It's very annoying.

I did this and eventually got a reply:
We know about the problem, our Head Developer is investigating it already.
We assume that the communication with the server takes more time than expected and we are searching for the right solution.
We really appreciate your feedback, because mainly this problem happens on Steam and not on PS, so it's a really useful information for us.
So apparently it is still being worked on, and I can only hope the solution to the problem will be with us shortly. As I said before, as a layman I am having a hard time understanding how this issue is so difficult to solve after months of work, considering many other games - some of them even cross platform - aren't burdened by such long loading times. Really it isn't that much data that needs to be transferred to and from the server, is it? Then again, I am eager to learn and if anyone care to give me insight that I clearly don't have related to the difficulties with solving this problem that would be greatly appreciated!

Long login time, long loading times before a match up and after any type of game and all since the update, I'm on xbox one.
