  • When starting/playing a table do you?

Usually when I get a new table I play for quite a while until I am familiar with all the ramps etc. and then maybe read the instructions if there is something I can't work out on my own. So I am curious what other players do regarding the instructions upon starting a table.

Just play until totally familiar with table and eventually read instructions, maybe.

I do the same. I never look at the table guide unless I have to. I like to figure it out all on my own.

After a couple of games, I'll read the instructions, if: 1. I like the table & 2. I feel it has depth. I have to know every last detail on a table that meets these criteria. I tend to ignore the rule sheet when it comes to super casual tables, e.g. Marvel's Women of Power: Champions or Sorcerer's Lair.

I like to play until I seem to stop beating my own scores, sot of like where you hit a great score and have a hard time beating it again. Then, maybe look at the table guides. I have consulted guides only on some of the older classics like Rome and Eldorado, etc, because, Their rule sets seem more subtle than newer tables... less verbal cues etc.

I give it my best shot at learning for myself and then look at the guide at some point to see anything I've missed and also to confirm my understanding.

I slap the ball around mindlessly just for fun and then look back and forth at the guide. I pay attention to safe shots and dangerous shots.

Some tables require different strategies such as solely relying on multiball, missions and wizard modes, high payout jackpots, even end of ball bonuses. Maybe even a combination of those strategies.

Play it blind, try to suss out what does what but I think the earliest I've looked at a guide is after multiple attempts but failures at trying to figure out what I'm meant to do for the skill shot lol

I like to play a game, then play and feel and finally read through the guide
