  • I'm beginning to wonder what the point is to playing Tournaments

If we surpass our single player leaderboard score the score does not overwrite the lower score on leaderboard, and It should. If rules are the same then the score should post to leaderboard and we have asked this since the beginning, now, add to that most of us are maxed at level 50 so any amount of points won during tournament mode is moot and apparently just goes into the ether anyway. Why cap it at level 50? Why not give some incentive to those who play regularly by allowing their xp and level cap to continue growing by removing the max cap. It's not necessary to provide any additional badges or background images. Hell, I personally think most of that is silly anyway. Add something to our names shown online to showcase if or if not we have a number 1 on any of the online leaderboards similar to the image below with a ever changing number to reflect new wins or removal from #1.

and finally, and I know this has nothing to do with the original post, but remove all the bogus scores from the leaderboards. They are not factual or possible and do not belong on the boards whether the posters deliberately put them there or not.

I agree about the level cap. I realise some players don't care, but what irks me is the pointlessness of xp for a large portion of faithful community members. Getting to level 50 doesn't take that long, just remove the cap & be done with it. I personally can't see the downside.

I am in that boat where in several cases, my best tournament score surpasses my leaderboard score. But, I am fine with that. I regularly play two tournaments a week and a random third one. Sometimes I am in the mood to go after my board score, sometimes to place in a tourney.

I absolutely see cantankerous' point where why all the effort to play to that score to have it ONLY count in the tournament. But I do think the two options being entirely seperate is probably for the best due to the ability to modify tournament conditions. You can still get your power ups or whatever when playing a tournament I think.

If anything if the rules are the same tournament scores are more legit then regular scores since there's no save option. Which means getting a good score on some tables is extremely difficult for me without that save option. I don't have 3 hour or more blocks to sit with one game and keep going. I have many others in the household that want to play so just leaving the game suspended isn't an option either.

There has to be a way for the servers to determine that the score is right to be also posted on the leader boards. Can't tell you how many times I would've had a top 5 or better.
