  • Suggestion : Increase nudging effect for normal mode?

Hi devs, going with a little suggestion here.

I realise that normal mode is not like with the old Zen physic, if i have to give a comparison, you guys made it feel as close as it was in TPA, which i think, its an excellent option for those who want a more easier gameplay rather than the real feels of classic modes, and wants that old TPA feel. And yes, im really enjoying it!

But dont know if that would be possible, as again, im going to take comparison to TPA, their nudging was kind of , very effective, like we felt we were having a good control of the ball by nudging. Do you think an increase of the nudging strenght could be an option for Normal mode? ( just this mode, the other real classic modes should stay like they are imo ).

I just think an increase nudging effect could add more to the fun of normal mode. .

I agree, especially with the wider flipper gap on Fish Tales. It's much easier to drain down the center and there's almost nothing I can do about it.

Just got this idea. Iv notice each tables have 1 or 2 unused passive power. Perhaps create a passive where you can increase your nudge power like 10% per level? Could balance some thing up and not over power it to much. Its a decision could make, one of the other passive bonus or increased nudging power. Could make interesting decisison to find the best setup each like.

I prefer the nudging in Pinball FX3. In TPA, I could keep balls alive way too long by nudging. In real life, nudging seems to have very little effect (without tilting). FX3 seems to have gotten that right.

But if Zen wanted to replace the scoring or slowed time specials with a nudge boost, that could work and give seasoned TPA players a chance to ease into the Zen physics.

As mostly a digital pinball player, its a good thing to know that what they did with FX about nudging represent more real life that what TPA was doing with nudging. In fact, i never tried to nudge a real table, i dont know, kind of affraid to break something lol.

But, IF, it happen Zen what to increase nudging, i hope it only touch Normal mode, to keep the real simulation mode, As the idea it could replace one of the missing passive ( as i said, , each table have 1 or 2 unused passive ), before its done as a passive, i think Zen need to look if future table will also have blanks passive. I threw that idea, but forgot to think about the future table that each 6 passive could be use. Anyway, there is still that rewind power we can use, which is a good boost for ball save.

So i think IF it happen, im now not 100% sure that a good idea to replace the passive. I think it should only be done if it come to that to normal mode. But its not a necessity . I wouldnt want it to be complicated to just apply to normal mode.

I know about nudging to keep the ball out of the out-lanes and have always known about nudging as part of a slap save (as demonstrated in this video) to try and stop a ball from going straight down the middle. This guy is also constantly nudging the table in all sorts of ways including slap saves. It is thus possible to do in real life and it is also effective to do so.

I thus appears to be part of accepted pinball skills as talked about here, so I definitely feel that Zen should aim to simulate this as best they could so that play on the Williams tables can be as realistic as possible.
