  • Incorporate the ’arcadish’ new engine to old table in Classic Single Player?

I think this thread was already created, but something came to my mind. The old tables ( pre williams one ), have the old engine, in both solo play or classic single player ( no power-up ). It could require testing , but i think leaving the solo play with power-up with the old engine would make those who like this old engine happy, but testing with the new engine ( the one in solo play who feel more ´arcadish) for classic single player could, work? I dont think the new engine from classic arcade or tournament could work, but maybe the lighter new engine might work?

Propably required more testing if tables are fits to be playable with it, but id love to see this happen. We would get for old table

    - Solo play : Old engine with power-ups
    - Classic single player : New engine , the lighter one available in solo play withnp williams table.

    Just a thought and wish!

If I understand correctly, you refer to the Williams tables Single Player engine as the "arcadish" engine. I also like that engine as it feels faster and more alive than the original zen engine. I do however really like the new classic arcade (Deep) engine and would love to see it being implemented on the older tables as well. I hope that more of the new Zen designed tables planned will also come with the new classic arcade physics along with the "arcadish" engine rather than the old Zen physics. I went back to Solo and suddenly it feels just plain wrong and the ball speed is so slow. I know it plays much easier but it doesn't suite my needs anymore. The new physics does - fast, intense, shorter games so that I can rather play more rounds of a table in one sitting.

Yesh , its what i ment. Williams tables have the new Deep engine, either solo, or classic single player ( devs here correct me if im wrong )but the solo one feel lighter, more ´user friendly’, easier to play.

I love also the Classic single player physic ( either arcade or tournament ), give you a feel of a real pinball, im just thinking that the lighter engine should be tested to see if it could work with old Zen tables, i would really be interested to be able to play it, like in classic single player of old table, but they could leave the old engine into solo play, with power-ups, to keep everyone happy. Im no programmer, but i got a feeling the lighter Deep engine could work on older table, again it might not. One thing i dont want to see is the real physics ( and i think it just cant work ) into old table.

Well, dismiss this idea , deep you confirmed that its the old engine on WMS tables, i guess i was blinded by how well it fits them lol. Close this thread!
