(sorry, I use a translator and I hope it will be understandable)
I reported the problem in the bug topic on steam after the release of the first pack williams.
The difference was then about 3000 pts (and it only increases with each release of a new pack williams).
In fact, if you care about your classic superscore, you always have to finish your game session with a game on a williams table (just play a game, you do not need to improve your record).
Indeed, from what I found, if the last game played was on a table williams then the superscore would be calculated on a base of 98 scores (78 Zen tables and 10 tables Williams playable classic arcade and classic tournament, a max of 98 000 (provided you have all the tables and have played at least once each and for Williams in classic arcade and tournament).
Whereas when the last game played is on a Zen table then the superscore is calculated on the basis of 88 scores only (the 78 Zen tables and the 10 Williams tables in classic arcade I guess).
For example, this afternoon, after a game on Paranormal Classic, my superscore was 87,136.
I then played a quick game on JunkYard Tournament (I did not beat my record) and my classic superscore went back to 96,450.
This is the last table played that will determine how the superscore will be calculated. (Obviously, the leaderboard is unreliable, and will be even more so as new tables williams will be added without the problem being solved).

Classic Superscore approx. 9K difference - Williams vs Not-Williams
I've noticed the same thing...
For me at least, it seems to have a consistant pattern.
If I beat my previous Classic High Score on a Williams table, my Classic super score will be nearly 9k higher. (2nd to last high score improvement for me was Black Rose.. CSS @ 93,577)
If I beat my previous Classic high score on a non-williams table it will be about 9K lower (last high score improvement was Bob's Burgers CSS @ 85,082)
I've seen this pattern at least 3, perhaps 4 times
Edit: Oh, & I should have mentioned... I'm playing on an Xbox oneLeave a comment:

I do have screenshots on steam of during & after if they are called for, I suspect it may be related to the double counting of williams tables: classic-arcade & classic-tournament scores both contribute to the classic superscore, the figure in this glitch is very much what it would look like if only one of those modes was being counted for a while.
Of course that is a very uneducated guess given I am not privy to the code, the missing amount may just be a coincidence

Thanks for your reply.
Well, right now it is back to normal, 89,048, rank 15
A little disconcerting, it didn't seem to affect others around my rank, though I don't have the photographic memory that would enable me to state that it didn't with certainty.
I'll keep taking sreenshots of it for a little while though, just in case it happens again

Hi,
Something fishy is going on, now way this can be a "natural" drop in less than 24 hours.
It was 89,083 (rank #15), it is now 80,666 (rank #25), in the intervening time I beat my classic high score on one table, so of course I was expecting to see a slight increase, not a 9k-ish drop :|
Win 10, playing on steam.
Be nice to know what is up please
