cab buttons don't work

I set up 360ce as instructed and I can see the buttons flash in the program as i hit them. I am using a virtuapin controller.
When I open up a game in fx3. The buttons don't do anything.

well i gave up on that and purchased xpadder. same problem. buttons can act as keys in notepad but once i go into fx3 there is no response from the buttons. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Can someone help?

i think i got it now...i had to set everything to run as administrator and hope it always loads that way..what a relief
