  • Question for FX3 developers (analogue nudge and plunger)

First of all, thanks for an amazing fx3 pinball tables.
I've built a full size pinball cabinet dedicated and configured for fx3 classic williams pinball tables.

My question is, if its possible to integrate option in fx3 specifically for the accelerometer (Nudge) and plunger setup. For example the KL25Z is commonly used for analogue plunger and physical nudge options.

I know that there is a workaround using DOFLinks, Xbox360ce etc... but since I and many others have no interest in other pinball titles and hate stuffing around with configuration, it would be brilliant to have a physical nudging and analogue plunger configuration availabe in fx3 settings.

    Thanks

The KL25Z board works with FX3 for Nudge and Plunger.

I bought my board from Virtapin.net. They sell a whole plunger kit with a KL25Z board included. You have to get the arcade buttons separately. I just got a generic arcade stick package from Amazon.

Once you wire everything up plug it in to your PC and use the virtuapin software to configure the nudge and plunger ranges. Then open steam and in controller settings enable Generic Gamepad Configuration Support and define the buttons in the button layout.

When mapping the left analog stick nudge the controller in the correct direction for the axis. I can never remember which is which. For the left and right axis nudge the controller left or right and for the forward back axis nudge the controller forward or back.

When mapping the right analog stick pull the plunger. Make sure you map it to the forward back axis.

Steam will read the controller as a generic game pad and it should work with FX3. When you nudge the controller it will think it's left analog stick movement and when you pull the plunger it will think it's right analog stick movement.

One annoying thing that happens when playing Williams tables is when the plunger goes inward it thinks you're pushing the right analog stick forward, so it looks at the backglass for a second until the plunger returns to its rested position. It doesn't really affect gameplay, it's really quick, the ball doesn't even have enough time to exit the launch lane. But it is annoying.

You're able to turn off manually looking at the backglass in the FX3 settings. That's what I did. Since there is no reason to manually look at the backglass except for enjoying the way they look. This solved the problem.

I have pinscape kl25z kit with the plunger. Not sure how to get rid of pinscape and install virtuapin controller?
