Asus infinity and portrait orientation

Some time ago I had the problem with dark bands across the"led"simulated display in both the landscape and portraits orientation. I also had display problem in the portrait mode. The display was half off the screen.

Then, after an update, the problem disappeared and all was well. Then just after the latest upgrade, things went back to the dark bars and the bad display in portrait orientation.

Is there any way to fix these problems permanently? Thanks.
