Notification Tray Icon Modernization

Got a push notification today for the core pack, and wanted to suggest some cosmetic improvements.

I'm on Android 4.4.2, but soon to upgrade to 5.0 on the shield tab.

First the notification icon needs to be brought in line with Android Design Guidelines.



Next, the Notification event needs to be modernized. Black and White is the standard.

The push notifications also need to not be so pointless.

If a player already has the, just released, core tables purchased already they shouldn't be getting push notifications about the release of the core tables. At minimum, the push notification shouldn't have to open the Zen HD App; which will then not display a single message because the notification was too long to display any legible info in the notification bar. Scaling and phrasing are important things to remember.

Yes, I am aware that push notifications can be disabled, but they do need to be streamlined and used more effectively so that Zen HD doesn't become a nag app whose notifications are merely there to "push" you into opening the application instead of pushing info to the users of it.

Definitely agree with this. Context is king, here.

I think the push message could be something as simple as:

"Core Tables Now Available"

If I saw this, I would most likely tap the notification to learn more. Would it be better for the notification to link to a Zen Blog Post, or go directly into the app at this point?
