I was recently searching ps3 controller support for the iPad. I found this article http://lifehacker.com/5991266/how-to...just-emulators. Unfortunately, you have to jailbreak your device because you need to install a jailbreak app called Blutrol. Blutrol costs about $6.
Well I jailbroke my iPad, installed Blutrol , and followed the directions in the lifehacker article linked above. I ran into a little difficulty in one step because I think my usb to 30 pin cable is about to crap out. But I eventually got it to work and setup a profile to allow me to use L1 and L2 for the left flipper and R1 and R2 for the right flipper. Nudging is a bit tricky because the ZP app designates touch zones and doesn't use a virtual analog stick. So I was able to designate the d-pad,left analog stick, and triangle button for the upward nudge only. Hitting either of those in any direction will cause an upward nudge. I designated the square button for left nudge and the circle button for the right nudge (admittedly an awkward control scheme). The select button changes the camera and the start button pauses the game.
I think the setup works fairly well. I haven't played that long but there is no input lag and feels the same as when I play on steam or my ps3. Pretty cool.
