Minimum Requirements

I am looking for a minimum recommendation for OS X version, processor speed, video card and RAM. As I purchase more tables, my five year old iMac is locking up more and more often and eventually crashing. I think the video card and/or processor can't keep up with the animations. I have updated the Mac all the way to 10.11 trying to fix the issue and that didn't help. I have nothing else running and 8 GB or RAM. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
