  • Updated Table for "Star Wars Pinball: Might of the First Order" keeps crashing!

    Hello Force-Awaken-table fans,

I have searched the past four months (2016) of posting in this Forum: Zen Pinball iOS / Mac Discuss Zen Pinball for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Mac. I did not find a thread topic that discussed the similar technical problems I am encountering during the table-updating of the "Star Wars Pinball: Might of the First Order" table. Therefore, I am posting this question to this forum to seek answers and technical support guidance.

I have been enjoying playing with my Star Wars Pinball: Might of the First Order since I purchased it on Feb 10, 2016. See my attached screen captures.

However, when I updated the table on June 25th I have been unable to start it up to play because it keeps crashing. I have been sending my crash report to Apple.

Today (July 11) I have deleted my Star Wars Pinball: Might of the First Order and attempted to restore it by re-downloading it from my Apple account. The downloading and the restoration of my Star Wars Pinball: Might of the First Order was successful. However, I still cannot start this table to play it because it crashes and it displays this error message: "Zen Pinball 2 quit unexpectedly." See my attached screen captures.

NOTE: I have attached a text copy of that crash report below for you to examine. I apologize for the lengthy crash report post but I encountered problems attaching a separate PDF and text file to this Zen forum message.

btw, I have no problems playing with my Star Wars Pinball: The Force Awakens table.

The device I am playing Zen Pinball on is an iMac:
    • Processor 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5
    • Memory 24 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    • Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB
    • Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F2560)

Has anyone else encountered this same crashing problem after updating your Might of the First Order table? Please post your solution or crash experiences here.

Thank you for your feedback and technical support guidance.

    glam

Have you tried deleting/reinstalling the game?

The game and all related files should be at: Macintosh HD / users / current_user / Library / Containers / com.zenstudios.ZenPinball2

If you would like to save your profile/scores, this file should be saved before you uninstall the game, and then copied over the fresh installation to restore your scores and profile info: Macintosh HD / users / current_user / Library / Containers / com.zenstudios.ZenPinball2 / Data / Library / Application Support / ZenPinball2 / profile.dat

To restore your purchases, just click the shopping cart icon and they should begin downloading at that point. Let me know how it goes!

      Hello BarbieBobomb

Thank you for your meticulous tech guidance. I appreciate your kind assistance.

I followed all of your instructions and made a backup of my profile and scores.

I also deleted, downloaded, and reinstalled the Zen-2 game. The restored game did not have any of my purchased game tables displaying except for the Sorcerer's Lair. That meant I was starting the game with a completely clean slate.

However, when I tried to restore my purchased tables by clicking on the Shopping Cart icon I only saw a text displaying "Please wait…" I waited for 10 minutes and nothing downloaded. I quit the game and clicked on the Shopping Cart again, -- nothing happened. I tried for a third time and still did not see any results.

I finally just copied over the profile.dat along with some other files into the Application support folder and restarted the game. All of my purchase tables have returned along with my profile/scores. I have test-played them all and they all work now. I am happy to report that my "Might of the First Order" game table no long crashes. Thank you for your wonderful remedy.

btw, how can I identify whether the table I have is updated or not is there a way of verify the version number for a table? Did I just restored my old "Might of the First Order" game table back when I over-wrote the Application support folder? I may have gone through the whole table updating (and crashing) exercise/ordeal for nothing (LOL)

Thanks BarbieBobomb for your valuable tech resolution tips.

      Cheerios,
      glam
