  • Skyrim/Doom iOS bug: check mark never goes away

The opening check mark, used for selecting characters/difficulty levels, never goes away. It stops functioning when it should, but it always stays in place. Fallout doesn't have this problem, nor do any other games I've tried.

I have tried several iOS devices, and I just re downloaded the tables again today.

Please update these tables to make the check mark disappear when it should.

On Skyrim, it can be used to access the character's inventory via holding it. On Doom, you can browse your weapons with it.

Yeah, it's supposed to be there. It's kind of in an awkward place on iPad, though. I wish you could change the position. Being able to adjust the opacity would be nice, too.

The downside of not having physical buttons.

On Doom Pinball you can actually change the position of the check mark. Just go to the Operators Menu -> Utilities -> Extra Adjustments -> Touch On-Screen Controls.

        Happy Demon Hunting!

More positional options would be nice. It would be optimal to allow the user full control over the size and position of the virtual button. The only viable positions as of now are left and right. Bottom obscures the flippers and top causes frequent accidental nudges. Unfortunately, i have also had a fair amount of ball drains with the virtual button in the right positions because of accidental tapping of the virtual button instread of activating the right flipper. Options for the lower corner positions would be nice.

It's a problem on The Pinball Arcade, too.

It would conflict with the flipper activation area. This is a constant problem for us where to place it. There isn't a perfect location for it.

Well the current right position already interferes with the right flipper activation for me. Perhaps it's because i play on an iPad, usually in the landscape orientation, and my thumbs naturally rest near the middle of the screen near the virtual button. I could imagine a problem with a lower corner virtual button on an iphone, but isn't having more options for button pacement better when people play with different devices and different orientations? Perhaps there is a more technical reason why it is impossible to have a lower corner virtual button, but if it is possible I know I would certainly appreciate it.
