Medieval madness soft lock

Playing on iPad I completed Fight for the Kingdom. my ball drained as it's supposed to, but I never got a launch button to be able to launch and continue. The animation of the finger dragging down on the lower right of the screen kept playing, but I was also unable to launch the ball that way either. I was therefore soft locked with the display flashing at me to launch the ball, but no way to actually launch to ball.

Had to quit and lose my 380 million point high score because there was no way to continue. Highly frustrating.
