What registers as a flip in the Flip Challenge

One of the active events right now is Flip Challenge for the Son of Zeus table.

I guessed that each time I use a flipper "button", it would count as a flip. But it doesn't seem to work that way. I played for a good 20 minutes yesterday and still had more than 80 flips left.

Also, somewhat related, often when I complete an event, my score doesn't register. For example, for the Grand Tournament event (currently for Wild West Rampage), I will complete my run, see my (unimpressive) score, but then on the screen where I can enter again, it says that my score is still zero. Sometimes a score from the previous day will show up eventually, and other times no scores will register.

Thank you very much for your report! We have heard about the challenge problem on Son of Zeus, we are investigating the situation. Could I ask if you tried to relog to your Game Center account? We have heard that this procedure can solve the score issue.
