Technical DMD question

I'm interested in knowing more how you add DMD animations, especially of movies (Star Wars, Jurassic Park). Do you have to create all animations from scratch OR do you just import the original film scenes and apply a pixel and color filter?

I'm interested in knowing more how you add DMD animations, especially of movies (Star Wars, Jurassic Park). Do you have to create all animations from scratch OR do you just import the original film scenes and apply a pixel and color filter?

Well, it depends. If the scene we want to convert has good contrast then we convert it directly from the movie or TV show as you mentioned. If not, or we can not use the given scene because of licencing issues we come up with something else. Sometimes we capture the 3D characters from the table, sometimes we do 2D animations.
