Jurassic Park too difficult?

I saw Jurassic Park in the cinema when it was released and also watched the movie a couple of times on TV. Memories!

The Jurassic Park table would be awesome but it is too difficult. Am I the only one with problems? I am not a pro but good enough. Still I think Jurassic Park is one of the top 5 most difficult tables. I cannot get past 30 million as the table is dangerous with many unsafe shots (even the video mode hole kickback is bouncy). Most of the time I drain the ball in the outlanes. Apart from maybe Civil War I play on other tables much longer.

Am I the only one who thinks that JP is too difficult?

Most of the time, there's an easy but not that good table in a pinball pack and the table I like best is the most difficult of them.

The table layout itself isn't difficult, but having your kickbacks on (which are really easy to lit compared to other tables) is essential. The missions aren't that complicated. For me it's the easiest of the 3 to get a highscore on. Once i even had a 140 million shot during the chaos hurry up.

Once you figure out the safe shots it's not as brutal. Most of the timers are unforgiving but don't let that pressure you into making risky moves!

When the ball comes out of the middle sink hole ("video mode hole") it's actually super easy: don't do anything! The ball will bounce off the left flipper and you can trap it on the right flipper. Same thing when it comes down the left orbit.

The magna save took me a lot of practise before it actually saved my first ball. I find in most cases one charge is not enough to save the ball, I will need at least two. So make sure you stack those magna saves. But I'll be honest with you, at this point I still have more luck just nudging the table and getting the ball back with a bang back...

But I agree, JP is an awesome table so I will play it a lot and hopefully get better.

Thanks! Really? I have 142 million on Mayhem as you get multiball all the time and can't lose the ball...almost. However, I am a rhythm player, aiming, shooting rhythmically, especially ramps. I don't play strategically...I only aim at flashing shots and decide to start a mission or to keep shooting...trying to light as much as possible. I never go for kickbacks or the ballsaver on purpise. Unless it is Tesla because it happens almost automatic.

I got 196m on Son of Zeus in classic mode and never have problems playing for a while...but Jurassic Park is different and thus, I posted this thread.
Maybe I should really read how to light kickbacks and do it as often as I can.

Yeah, my first game on Mayhem was like that. No idea what I was doing, not really thinking about it... Didn't make me want to come back to it. JP is very different though!

Just to avoid confusion, there are no kickbacks on JP (it has magna save instead, activated with the launch button).

Ah, ok. Yeah, I know the magna save...unfortunately, you don't have it forever but it seems to be only active for half a minute or so...

No, had it a couple of times..."magna save enabled" or something like that...press A later but it was not active anymore although I had not lost a ball.

It's driving me nuts...I am just enjoying the table with the original music (and muted in-game music)...it's so much more awesome! ... got the message "magna sage stacked"...ball lost in the middle...pressed A immediately...but nothing happend!!!

The playfield is small and the slingshots are mental, so yea it's a table that's qiick and tricky to handle.

However, if you actually leave the flippers alone and let the ball naturally bounce off of them all of a sudden you figure out how to catch the ball pretty easily. Also nudging whenever the ball is rolling out of the orbit will help it land comfortably on a flipper. If you want to focus on grabbing a magna save (shouldn't expire) before going for ramps then you'd be wise. You can get a magna save very quickly with some practise, and you even gain 25% towards your next magna save when you use it as it drops the ball down the inlane and lights a letter in the process.

The table actually reminds me a lot of the street fighter 2 table, tricky and punishes a missed shot but not too demanding when you learn how to control the table.

Some tables such as this kind of force you to formulate a low risk strategy which always requires lighting saves and kickbacks. It's not really a rhythm table, the ball just behaves too erratically.
