Default What kind of theme would you like in the future?

    Just mention 3 themes please!

    I'm up for:

    - Dracula-like theme, with a castle you can shoot and enter (Paranormal is too different)
    - Circus
    - Magic/Illusions

Sorry Lukky, I can imagine why you've restricted to 3 ideas, but I can't help it:

    Heavy Metal
Think 80's metal like Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Judas Priest etc. Lots of potential here for some nice imagery, such as electric guitars and drums, sound effects like big meaty riffs and modes like battle of the bands, tours etc. You could have a tour bus, a jet and all that, like the career in Rock Band etc. Thrill the fans, fill a "fan meter", complete the gig, and progress through the stages of your career to reach the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame!

    Circus/Fun Fair
I imagine something dirty, but extremely colourful, like Moxxi's Underdome in Borderlands if anyone's seen that. Creepy and grimy, but with flashing lightbulbs and neon signs of every colour. Dark, weather-beaten wood and brass construction. An assault on the senses. Game modes could be sideshow attractions like you get at the fun fair, such as the shooting range, coconut shy, dunk tank, hook-a-duck and the test your strength machine (hit the target with the ball as hard as you can - try to ring the bell).

    Soccer
I'd like something like Baseball too, but I think Soccer has wider worldwide appeal. You could have penalty shoot outs, tournaments etc. Hitting targets or shoot ramps in a certain order to make passes (Defender, Midfielder, Forward for example) to score a goal. Progress through a knockout tournament to win. Lots of crowd noises, cheering, chanting and (dare I say it), Vuvuzelas.

    Casino
This has so much potential. Lots of colourful, Vegas-like glitz, glamour and swank, like a Sonic the Hedgehog casino zone. That bombastic music that evokes thoughts of riches and decadence. Spinners like casino chips. You could have a sub table which is a roulette wheel, under the main playfield for example (like Nightmare Mansion), or up in the corner - you could hit targets first which light Black or Red, Odd or Even etc, then shoot the ramp into the roulette wheel and win points based on the result. Other potential modes which would work great are Blackjack and Fruit Machines. You could spin a fruit machine every time to launch a new ball, perhaps even with the ability to bet your current points on it! Use the flippers to decide how much to bet.

    Games Tie-ins
Something else I've always thought would be great is games tie-ins. I think it would be great if the big publishers would commission or license tables based on their big new games. A Halo table, a Gears of War, a Call of Duty table, an Assassin's Creed table... you get the idea. Like the Streetfighter II table, but for, to celebrate, and to help promote, new and upcoming games.

They already make themed cars for Forza 3 for every big games release, gifted to every VIP member of Forza. I got a Halo Reach one, a Crackdown one I think, a Game Room one, a Toy Soldiers one... I know that a pinball table is a million times more work, but it's also a million times more fun, and most importantly, monetised. I'd certainly spring for them nomatter what the game they represent, let alone for a game I love or am exited about getting. I'm sure Microsoft could afford to pay for a Halo or Gears table to be made for example. They'd be getting some of that money back too, directly, as well as the effect that the marketing would have.

Zen Studio: "make" tables and sell them for profit. Including a coffee machine of course.

1: Casino: Played a board once with poker, slots roulette and stuff.
2: Sci-Fi: Something like Pinbot maybe.
3: Business management: Manufacture, sales etc.
4: Norse mythology: Give us a big fat hammer.
5: City sim: Like Sim City where you have to build stuff and put out fires etc.
6: Run for president: Jackpot could be the number of votes you get.

I only have one that I was thinking of earlier today:

    Lives of the Great Artists
Paint the Sistine Chapel, build an ornithopter, and cut off your ear!

    Default time wigneer

sexy/stripper/spearmint rhino/playboy type theme - a grown man that likes sexy women and pinball so this would be good.
'shoot the loop for t*** and a**!'

more game licenced tables.i think street fighter is one of my faves so far.

i read about thread about realistic vs videogame pinball in the table design.
i'd like a table that is really realistic in function and parts (and efects or lack or there of) but so big and grand and complicated that it could only be made in a video game.

i'm surprised they havent tried to get any deals for tables based on an upcoming movie blockbuster.
it could be a good way for the movie to advertise.
    eg
    TRANSFORMERS3 the pinball

post apocolyptic theme eg fallout or terminator.
tranquil gardening theme ie nice mellow harp sounds and a soothing voice for sample fx
    nerdy computer theme
    pets/cats and dogs theme

finally: a crazy totally unrealistic table with loads of totally impossible features
like mini games that you would get on the dot matrix (eg driving) being done with actual video game graphics and stuff like that.

What I want most is what is coming in the future, a Marvel Comics table with the most iconic heroes displayed....Spider-Man, Hulk, Captain America, Dare Devil, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, the Avengers and X-men. Squeeze them in some how!

A Halo themed table, a Left 4 Dead table and a Fable table.

Ozzpot, that table would be BRUTALLY EPIC. I would buy that one in a second.

    Some Other Ideas:
    - Sky Pirates (like crimson skies)
    - Steampunk
    - World War 2
    - Maybe work with Microsoft/Bungie on a Halo table?

I would love to see a back to the future or mortal kombet table. Either of those would be pretty sweet. If the back to the future one is made you could do the clock ower incident which would be pretty awsome to see on a pinball table!

If we're on the subject of movie tie-ins, Back to the Future would be awesome, but most of my favourite movies growing up in the eighties would make superb pinball tables, but especially; The Goonies!

The goonies would be pretty cool to see on here. Hell I would be happy with either the goonies or back to future. The would make a cool table for pinball.

It would be cool to see a Safari themed table with gorillas, lions, and hostile natives, elephants maybe.

Wouldn't mind seeing some sort of dinosaur themed table either. You could do some things with skeletons, or dinosaurs or tar pits or what not.

Might be neat to see some sort of monster truck or demolition derby themed table as well.

1/ a movie set / film lot themed table. With lots of stunt based challenges.

2/ a prehistoric theme.... Cavemen getting away from the dino's and all that.

3/ a Tenacious D Table.... where Jack and Kyle have to escape from the devil

A Joe Satriani table sounds cool, if a little esoteric. I'd certainly buy it! I'm thinking of the "Surfing with the Alien" album (my favourite) reimagined as a pinball table (so it might appeal to Marvel fans too!). A lot of the songs on that album would make great pinball music. Maybe different tracks play for different game modes.

Here's some more of my ideas:

    Venice
I'm thinking of classical, 15th-16th century Venice. Maybe I've been playing Assassin's Creed 2 too much! Italian Renaissance or Masquerade ball styling, ramps like Canals and Gondolas to transport the ball from one place to another maybe. Leonardo Da Vinci inspired contraptions to manipulate the ball. Modes to include the Bonfire of the Vanities etc.

    Vikings
Hordes of Viking Gold. Viking Gods like Thor - just like the robot in Earth Defense shoots his laser gun, Thor could slam his hammer down. You could have a mode where you have to set the ball on fire, and then set fire to, and launch, a viking longboat, like in a viking funeral. Other modes for looting and pillaging, maybe archery etc. The ultimate aim could be to reach Valhalla.

    Candy Store / Candy Factory
I'm inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory here I guess. A more light-hearted table, lots of colour and movement. Imaginative and bizarre machines making candy, ramps like conveyer belts to drive these machines maybe, targets to start or stop them. Ramps like hollow candy canes, spinners like lolly pops.

    Yes! Vikings!

    - I would also love a Warcraft table... That would be magnificent! With Arthas as main villain to defeat!

I know Zen would want this too!

    - or just do another epic Fantasy theme

    For me

Neo Tokyo: Think of the lights and lanes you could do for this futuristic theme

Samurai/Bushido: The amount of awesome this would be is enough to commit Harikiri over

Anime: Alright, I love my anime but ya know, would be epic.

Magic Circle: You know, what with all the tricks and stuff

Nikola Tesla: Think of the Tesla towers :3

    Egypt: Climb that pyramid scheme

    Formula 1: would be awesome.

Rollercoasters: Theme parks are nice, but those ramps are made for winding tracks.

Surfing: You could have baywatch babes watching you rip up the curls. Ultimately finishing in riding the Tsunami Tidal Wave.

I love this. Could be really dark and techy. I'm a sucker for anything Japanese or futuristically neon, and this satisfies both of those interests.

What intrigues me about pinball in it's virtual form like this, is the ability to do things that wouldn't be possible in real life. Here are some table ideas that could take advantage of this:

    Heaven & Hell
I thought of these as two different tables at first, but as it's virtual, this table could transform. Just like some of the tables darken for certain modes (like Pasha), this would transform from Heaven to Hell and vice versa when certain conditions were met. Imagine a light, angelic, celestial, ethereal, divine Heaven table, bathed in white light, with music to match, Angels, harp sounds etc... transforming into something dark, sinful and diabolical. White light and waterfalls turning into fire and brimstone, Angels into demons. Each mode could have it's own goals and objectives.

    Atlantis
This could benefit from this virtual nature too. All of we know of Atlantis is legend of course, but that watery ruins thing is something that has always caught my imagination, ever since playing the Labyrinth zone in Sonic back in the day. It could make great use of water of course, hell, maybe the whole playfield could be underwater, maybe the goal being to raise it from the deep! If not, maybe have a sunken "Atlantis" visible under a transparent playfield. You could have ramps and targets of stone, ruined statues, a lush and verdant array of plants decorating it... it could be beautiful.

    Space Agency/Moon Landing
A more realistic spin on the space themes, this could have the player trying to launch a rocket, land a shuttle or moon lander. Could have a "moon's surface" sub table, the aim of which could be collecting rock samples for example. This table could have a great, space-age, glossy black and white look to the hardware, smoke and spears of flame here and there, shuttles docking, space walking astronauts perhaps. A low gravity / anti-gravity mode would be amazing, if possible!! Imagine knocking around a 3-ball multiball in zero-G! OMG please acknowledge this is awesome! lol.

    And a bonus one...

    Tiki
I can't pretend to know much about it, but the whole Polynesian culture, the Tiki carvings, statues, imagery has always appealed to me. It's the exotic and tribal nature of the whole thing I like. I can't imagine what sort of game modes you could have, but I think it'd look great.

Zen's done a Tesla table. Unfortunately for 360 users, it's only available on the PS3, and I suspect it's likely to stay that way so as to make sure there's a reason for dual-consolers to own both.

    Ghostbusters!
I had a plastic, toy Ghostbusters pinball machine when I was a kid. It was 12" x 24", used something like 4 D-Cell batteries, and was very basic, just a few lights and a single bell providing sound effects. Not a lot in the way of objectives, lol!

As far as I can tell, and to my surprise, there has never been a real Ghostbusters pinball machine. Why not, it'd be awesome! I mean, in this virtual format it could really shine, with a little slimer flying around at the top etc. You could have a mode where you have to fire the ball at "ghost" targets, the ball perhaps even creating a "beam" as if from a "proton pack", with each shot, or a target that activates the "trap" at the right moment.

This could be a great tie-in for Ghostbusters 3 (Due for release 2012)!

an Alien themed table (not from the movie), where you have kick back the alien invasion inside of a space battleship.

A game developpement themed table, where you have do do several steps needed to make a game (create the hero, select the type of game, generate the level design...)

    An Hollywood theme,

You know what I've always wanted to see on a pinball table? A jump!

A gap in a ramp or wireform, that the ball jumps and lands on the other side (if it's going fast enough). I don't know enough about real tables to know if that's ever been done, but I'd like to see it in PFX2. I know the physics must be fully 3D in this game, so I can't see why not.

With this in mind, I'd like to see a:

    Stuntman or
    Dare Devil table.

Maybe even a specific one, like

Evel Knievel if the licensing could be secured.

are based on real pinball tables like blacknight 2000 so why not do it with BoP.

How about a Justin Beiber table? Now bare me, this is what you will want. Now imagine a table with a 3D modelled face of the said hero. Now you can fire your Ball at his teeth to knock them down and ramp that are targeted at his eyes. Basically, it would be a sort of beat up the Beiber table.

I'm old school so I would love a Pinball table based on the 1984-86 G1 Transformers. I also love a table based on the Thundercats!

Finally to get way from TV, I love a table based on Metallica which would include their original music as well as voice sayings from the band.

    Cheers!

There are so many themes that would make a great pinball table, but it's the layout and minigames that realy make it enjoyable. The objectives and targets must tie into the table theme. I've probably mentioned my top desired themes elsewhere on this forum, but here they are agin in case someone is reading...

Aerial Combat Theme a la Crimson Skies or Red Baron. I envision pop up targets representing enemy squadrons.

Cowboy/Western Theme. Similar to Cactus Canyon. Take down the gang one at a time with increasing rewards.

Wrestling. Work your way up the ladder to become the champ taking on different opponent as you progress.

    Honorable mentions:
-Werewolf (i like werewolves more than vampires). Imagine a moon on the playfield that changes phases.
    -Crime scene (probably been done)
-And for the kids..A virtual hamster that runs around under the playfield. You have to hit targets to feed it and give it medicine and toys. (Yeah, I'm rolling my eyes at myself as I type this).

lol, I'm a Metallica fan too! I was a member of their very overpriced fan club for quite a few years in the 90s. I still buy all their albums, have probably over a hundred items including vinyl, box sets, merchandise and rarities. I think a Metallica table would be awesome, but you know what Metallica are like - they'd probably want far too much money for it.

    Default Table themes

I would love to see a Magic the gathering themed table I even contacted wizards of the coast about it. I think that would be the sweetest theme pinball fx2 could ever have if they made it right. they released a streetfighter theme with everything that came out on xbox for streetfighter so why not do a double release with MTG when they release an expansion to duels of the planeswalkers on XBLA that would be a guaranteed money maker MTG is one of the most downloaded games on XBLA and I would pay $10 alone just for a mtg theme table

    Default Tortisch rough

If you take a look at some XBOX Live and retail games you could speculate about some possible licenses for FX2. It's at least more possible than recreations of legendary pinball tables like Addams Family and Terminator 2 who could only be released via Williams classics or something similar.

Anyway, I would love to see some of these:

    - South Park
    - Family Guy
    - Sonic
    - Star Wars
    - MARVEL (Spiderman/Wolverine/XMEN/Hulk...)
    - (WORMS)
    - (WWE)
    - (LORD OF THE RINGS)
    - (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN)
    - (PLAYBOY MANSION)

I would like the folowing themes to apear:

Anime/manga or/and Superhero table. With caracters like mazinger Z, Naruto and other famous manga characters; Batman, Xmen, ...

Jungle safari, with a great ape, snakes lions, rinho, etc. Like Jumanji dangers XD. I read another post about prehistorical beast that could be fine too. With a big volcano launching a lot of fire balls ^^

Succubi, demons theme or a fight between Good and Evil, using mythology, Zeus vs Hades.

    Default tables I'd like

I can't wait to see what you all do with a Marvel themed table.

Western Theme... (suprising how Red Dead Redemption did with video gamers)

    Remake of Microsoft's Space Cadet

    Maybe a Top Gun/Jet Fighter...

Or maybe a Sucker Punch Theme... Based on the upcoming movie:

Here’s what I’d like to see.

Decade Multi Packs - Take some of the classics from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and bundle them into packs. These tables older tables don’t have all of the wiz bang that the new tables have but they are none the less still fun to play. There’s something great about their simplicity. Make a 4 table bundle for each decade and sell them for 500 ms points.

Poker - There’s an old (1970’s) poker table but I can’t remember what the name of it was. there was a magician on the backglass throwing cards and there was a great free version for mac os 9.

Space - Was mentioned by someone else also. Build each section of the rocket/shuttle and then launch to the moon.

Baseball - hit knockdowns for balls/strikes. Bonuses for strikouts. Could be different as normally you can hit anything on the board and be ok. This one could open more side gates (channels that go to the flippers) as you get 1,2 outs. so instead of coming down and toward the flippers, if you get an out 1 of the 2 channels that go to the flippers gets opened up so the ball goes out of play. You could have an option when you start to bat or play the field. Which ever one you pick determines different bonuses and challenges.

Other themes i’ve seen above that I like:
    Western
    Greek Mythology
    Circus
    Magic
    Vikings
    WW2

Tomb Raider styled table. Lost ruins, wildlife, mystery
    Winter-Christmas themed table
Something casual (Simpsons, Toy Story, Worms, Muppets...)

First of all thanks to Zen for a magnificent pinball game both on PS3 and 360, thanks for keeping the heart of pinball pumping I will be happy tonight flipping that ball around, whilst the majority of the gaming community are playing the latest COD re-hash. Bring back old skool gaming !!!!!

Anyway, my table choices are :

    1) Has to be top of the list a Funfair theme (aka Party Land). I realise we have Pinball RC on the iPhone, but the PinballFX/Zen platform is sorely missing a table with this theme ! Also, don't make it a core table, it must be DLC so it can be cross platform both PS3/360.

    2) Winter / Christmas theme - simply put this would be brilliant, I still remember fondly the Cannon Fodder xmas special on the cover disk of Amiga format Anyone else remember that ? Nothing better than an xmas version of your favourite game to play over the xmas break

    3) Duke Nukem - Ok Ok I know there has been one before, but if you timed this tables release in with the release of Duke Nukem Forever next year, then you would have a winner on your hands Only thing is it would prolly need to be an 18 certificate lol.

A few possible games tie ins came to mind the other day that could make for interesting pinball tables.

    Civilisation
    Plants Vs Zombies
Toy Soldiers - although with this one it was more a case of a war with toys I was thinking on.

    Howdy partners,

I see a lot of good ideas on here. I'd like to share some of my ideas:

    01. A pro wrestling-themed table. Not necessarily a WWE/TNA/Indy-themed table, but it would still be pretty cool.

    02. Final Fantasy. Maybe something like "Dissidia", like it has plot elements/popular characters from all of the different games.

    03. Superheroes. Marvel, DC, heck even made-up ones would be neat (I realize that there are rumblings of a Marvel table, but has it been confirmed by a Zen rep that it's indeed based on Marvel superheroes?)!

    04. Some kind of horror in space, like "Aliens" or "Dead Space". Combining horror + sci-fi = win!

    05. Sega All-Stars. I LOVED "Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing", and would buy this one in a second.

    06. Monster Trucks. I don't really follow the sport myself, but who doesn't love seeing monster trucks crush up smaller cars?

    07. Hello Kitty. I asked my 7-year old daughter what she'd like to see. Don't judge her.

EDIT: 08. How could I forget; a KISS table! They've been my favorite musical act my entire life, and I'd have a hard time believing that Gene Simmons wouldn't jump at the chance to license their images/music to yet another product!

Agreed. The theme can be broken if you don't have something fun to do that relates to it. A nice array of ramps/orbits help too.

Aerial Combat Theme a la Crimson Skies or Red Baron. I envision pop up targets representing enemy squadrons.
I can really get behind something like this. Though I would go for the older WW1 bi-plane style. More creative license. I wonder if it would be possible to have a flipper shot loop or corkscrews ramps?

Cowboy/Western Theme. Similar to Cactus Canyon. Take down the gang one at a time with increasing rewards.
Good call. The skillshot could be bottle shooting. Quickdraw mini game. A barfight miniplay field kinda like pasha's. Combo ramps could be hats being shot off.

Wrestling. Work your way up the ladder to become the champ taking on different opponent as you progress.
Another good one. Some fun storyline missions that would change on either being a face or heel.

Werewolf would get my money vote. It would be fun to chase the flashing ramps for your prey. Or you could go the other way of hunting the monster.

    As for myself I'd like:
    --Original--
-Heist style table. Cool jazz music ala the pink panther/sly cooper. A big safe somewhere on the table. Cat buglar side missions along with recuiting a team.
-Adventure table. Yeah like Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider. Airplane, waterfall, pit-traps, snakes.
-Forgotten Dino Island. Think Land of the Lost. To leave you have to beat/slip past all of your favorite thunderlizards.
-zombie apocolyspe. Small town. Walking undead. Shotgun. What else do you want.

    --Liscensed--
I'll preface this with not the one's from the early to late 90's licsensed table like The Addams Family or Terminator 2 table but, original tables from William's, Bally, Midway, Data East and Sega.
    -Earthshaker
    -Whirlwind
there are others but thses two stick out the best for me. Never got a chacne to play the older 70's tables.

nstsfn: AFAIK the themes have to be from the international (ok, often American) pop culture, I don't think those qualify. It's sad, but what can you do..

What about an UFO/alien table, but with a reversed idea and humorous/twisted attitude like in Biolab and Destroy All Humans game.

    Tasks:

    - abduct & mind control people
    - implant people
    - mutilate cows
    - make crop circles
    - evade radars and fighter jets (do not crash!)
    - conspire with the government, mislead UFO investigators
    - shut down nuclear missile silos

    And so on...

True, but that could be twisted too: a gray alien playing "doctor" and having his arm inside cows anus.. Ok, that also might be too much

I would like to see these tables:

    Rock Hall of Fame

    Beatles
    - Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds (trippy type sub theme)
    - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (self explanatory)
    - Yellow Submarine (submarine type sub theme including an Octapus's Garden)

    The Who
    - Tommy (For obvious reasons)
    - Won't Get Fooled Again (revolution sub theme)

    David Bowie
    - Ziggy Stardust
    - Major Tom

    Classic SNL

    - John Belushi in Samuri Delicatessen sub theme
    - Eddie Murphy in Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood sub theme
    - Mike Myers and Dana Carvey in Wayne's World sub theme
    - Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, and Jane Curtain in "The Nerds" sub theme [Lisa Loopner (Gilda), Todd DiLaMuca (Bill), and Lisa's Mom (Jane)]

    National Lampoon's Animal House

Basically all of the main characters in Animal House including Flounder, Bluto, D-Day, Dean Wormer, and Neidermeyer appearing in various sub themes such as:

    - Food Fight sub theme (Bluto starts food fight by pretending to be a zit)

    - Horse in Dean Wormer's office sub theme (Flounder sneaks Neidermeyer's horse into Wormer's office)

    - Homecoming Parade sub theme (Super grand finale bonus activation with table going crazy with multiple lights on ramps, lanes, spinners and targets with virtually everything on the table flashing at once)

    I'd like more campy sci-fi.

"Saucer Men from Mars" kind of thing.

Death rays, UFOs, our valuable wimmen being stolen for their precious bodily fluids, etc.

But not as dark and cluttered as Earth Defense please.

Regarding the Beatles, can't imagine Zen (a) getting the licenses for them, or (b) being able to afford them. But who knows.

I'd also love to see DROP TARGETS! Yes, physical drop-down, pop-up targets, rather than just non-interactive targets. There's something very satisfying about being able to drop a target (like in Earth Defense) rather than light up a static button.

Default Tables I'd like to see

I'd personally like to see the following:
    1. a Harry Potter themed table... for obvious and huge money making/popularity reasons
    2. a Gunslinger "western" themed table, which would be great to have "duel" with multi-ball, etc.
    3. A circus themed table like Cirqus Voltaire... which to me was a great real table back in the day. More magnet features too!

Other modes for looting and pillaging, maybe archery etc. The ultimate aim could be to reach Valhalla.
There was a table exactly like this several years ago on Playstation. IIRC the game was Pinball Magic - Vikings table. The wizard mode was "Valhalla Mode", and it was a tough bugger to actually activate. If Zen could do a remake of that table in this game I would buy it in a hearbeat.

    Other thoughts of mines were;
Battle of Britain WW2 theme - Shoot down bombers on bumpers, ramps for air-raid scrambling, night fighter missions (with dark table ala Pasha), rail combo's that shootdown more planes etc.

A proper Sci-Fi table, like "mission to mars" or "Planet Alpha Cetti 3" with ramps for exploration, scientific research, gene mapping. Mini games for resources gathering (bonus multiplyer), rescuing fellow explorers, alien attacks, etc.

But I would really like any well laid out table with plenty of room. I hate tables that are crammed with stuff you can barely see. Nice open tables with plenty of features for me please!

Well, MARS is coming very soon.

p.s. Zen, the reCAPTCHA system is awful. No wonder bots can't read the words, because humans can't either.

I only know of the tables that Zen have released on 360. Is there any word on how these new tables will be packaged? IE marvel set of 4 tables for 800ms points and then others as single tables at 200ms points?

Yes please! But, not visually dark. Need to be able to see the ramps and targets and whatnot. (Earth Defense, Street Fighter II, Nightmare Mansion are all too dark for my tastes.)

original tables from William's, Bally, Midway, Data East and Sega.
    -Earthshaker
    -Whirlwind.
TBH, I think there's very little chance of seeing these, for a number of reasons. Firstly: the licensing, and the fact that some of these companies don't exist any more.

Secondly, I think any remakes are best left to outfits like Crave, and the Pinball Hall of Fame series. Zen just has a different aesthetic, goal, physics engine.

My favorite all time Pinball game was the Star Wars table in my local mall.

Running throught the missions and blowing up the Deathstar... earning extra games. Awesome. It elements from all three original movies.

Star Trek themed tables would be nice, there are five eras as well as the movies which could make good tables.

A Transformers themed table would be nice, but not a movie one only, ones based on the classic Generation One series from the 80s as well as Beast Wars would be great.

If a game themed one, then maybe one themed from the Fallout series. Also a Back To The Future and Toy Story themed tables could be fun.

Temeraire themed table would be awesome. Quoting: "A reimagining of the epic events of the Napoleonic Wars with an air force—an air force of dragons, manned by crews of aviators". The table could be filled with gigantic draconic beasts and old battleships with dozens of guns. You can read the books how the battles work out, there's plenty of material for pinball tasks ;-) I'm sure the author Naomi Novik would be thrilled to see a pinball table based on her work.

I would love to see Zen Studios get the franchise rights to do movie (particularly sci-fi) tables.

I would love to see what Zen would come up with for:

    1. The Terminator (any one of the movies would be awesome but I would prefer to see both the 1st and second. Concentrate on the future war parts.)

    2. Alien (the space jockey and Xenomorph would obviously be in there somewhere, but a facehugger, The Nostromo and Derelict would be awesome as well)

    3. Avatar (there are so many flashy and neat things to look at in this movie, it would be great for pinball)

    most importantly of all

    4. Blade Runner (come on Deckard's gun shooting the pinball, the police spinner hovering, the Tyrell Building and a random dove, whats not to love?)

If we're talking about tables based on licensed properties, then I'd *LOVE* to see a "Eureka" table. With all the craziness of the show, theres also sorts of insane stuff they could do with the table.

I'd also love to see a "Phineas and Ferb" based table. Missions against Dr. Doofenshmirtz would be *CLASSIC*.

After seeing what all was done with the Marvel tables, got me imagining a 4 table Valve pack.

Half-Life 2- I picture as a sharpshooter table, featuring a Strider and City 17 motif. Gravity guns for kickbacks, as well as headcrabs and other features for targets.

Portal - I want to start off this one by saying I really love the Spiderman table for it's crazy ramps. A Portal one should have plenty, some of them leading to portals that would send the ball all over the place. Table features could include a Companion Cube, pop up Turrets, and GlaDos hanging down from above.

    Left4Dead 1/2 - Zombie themed, with a Valve twist.

Team Fortress 2 - A table split with a RED vs BLU theme, missions based on each of the classes.

    X,
I love the Sealab 2021 idea, big time. I think the color pallete and humor would be spot n for a table (but fresh prince... zomg lol etc...)

obviously I would be down for a Dr. Who themed table, but I would want it all vintage style too reflect the old-school doctors, not the newer david tenet rable.

lastly I have to agree on a Tron table... the visuals sell themselves.

Wow alot of those themes really seem cool! Some of my favorites where "westenrs" and LOtR. I would love to get that ring to mount doom or have a gunfight at high noon!

What about a WW2 call of duty type theme, like 21 century miltary. I'm thinking lots of camo, enemy drop targets, black opp missions, helcopters, drone planes, tanks the whole works. The launcher should be an M16!

I would love a Namco theme pack, with Pac-Man, Dig Dug & Galaga tables. The music & sound effects these tables would have would bring back alot of fond memories for fans of those games.

My top three, favoring those already listed:

    Heavy Metal - Brutal

Gunslingers - More focused than just "Western".. outlaws and law dogs, shootouts and Boot Hill...

    Dracula: I bid you.. velcome.."

    General themes:

    - Fight with the Devil / Hell table would be good

    - Western theme: I like this idea too

    - A Las Vagas Casino: kind of obvious; but good casino themes are really fun (with a working roulette wheel and some way to play black jack or something; would be awesome)

    Franchises (which are unlikely):

    - Addam's Family table - Would love to see a good new AF table.

    - Banjo Kazooie Table or a viva pinata table... (BK preferred).

    - Super Mario table... (will NEVER happen but this is an unrealistic wish list right?)

    Smile enjoyed reading theme suggestions

Thanks all. I enjoyed reading the theme suggestions and suggest the following themes:
    -French Revolution
    -Drizzt Do'Urden

These already suggested themes I like and seem not to have too much in common with existing tables:
    -Mythology (any kind)
-Western (like ranch farming, gold rush, oil drilliing, outlaw/bounty hunter, etc.)
    -Ancient China or Japan
    -Mob
    -Dinosaurs

As a 360 owner, I will buy any ones now exclusive to the PS3 that make it to the 360.

Great suggestions guys, very interesting thread. I think that franchises have a lot of potential, I love the MARVEL tables.

    - Alice in Wonderland
    - Matrix

    - Stargate: I really love the show and I think it has a lot of potential for a pinball table. Great opportunities for exploration and mini-games (Travel to other worlds by Stargate or spaceship to expand your knowledge of the universe by making contact with other races and discovering ancient artifacts and technology.)

For the missions, well there's the first movie, ten season and two movies of SG-1, five seasons of Atlantis and two seasons of Universe, you can't really run out of ideas. I would love to hear Jack O'Neill say ''Aaah for crying out loud'' when I lose a ball.

Apologies if this has already been suggested, but I would love to see a Mortal Kombat table. It could be tournament based where you fight some of the main characters and eventually the boss, Shao Kahn who is sitting on a throne somewhere. The speech could have things like "Ball 1, Fight!" and if you get into multiball it could say "Finish Him!" with "Fatality" for jackpots. This seems unlikely though because Mortal Kombat is owned by Warner Brothers who owns DC Comics, the rival of Marvel. Not to mention, Mortal Kombat is a rival of Street Fighter. One can always dream though.

Folks any "Computer Game" related tables have a zero percent chance of being made. Game publishing companies who own the IP go to great pains to stop anyone but them making money off the franchise. That means companies like Zen would have to pay extremely high licencing fees just to use the IP in a table. And there is no gaurantees they would make the fee back in sales let alone cover development costs.

Thats why we have Marvel tables, as Marvel actually like to licence out its IP to developers as they themselves (Marvel) dont make any games. Companies like Activision, Ubisoft etc will milk Zen for every red cent they have in licence fees before allowing a table to use their IP.

So tables like Mortal Combat will never happen.

Sorry but thats just the way it is.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case. I have been in the Mortal Kombat community though and I know the team behind it listens to what the fans have to say and try to make it happen. In fact they are teaming up with God of War for the next game which is something I never would have expected. It's very unlikely to see a partnership with Zen and Netherrealm Studios, but never impossible. As for this thread, it wasn't something I expected to see just something I would enjoy to see.

I saw some of you mention Vikings and mythology themes... I know that it's not listed on the poll for the next MARVEL table but I would love to see a table with Thor.

I don't think that a lot of people know this MARVEL hero, not as much as spiderman and the others anyway, but that will probably change soon since there's a movie and a game coming out in May. Here's some trailers:

    Movie trailer

    Game trailer:

I would love to see Thor's hammer drop on a pinball table with lightning bolts flashing everywhere.

I just watched that Thor trailer and cringed... a lot. That is not how I imagine Thor to be at all. I really like how he was represented in Marvel Ult. Alliance 1.

That Thor looks far too.... *hollywood*...

A Thor table would be kool; but one based on the proper character rather than that movie tripe. (I groaned in agony a lot watching that trailer) >.<...

I start to like the idea of special tables.
    - Peggle-like table that's based on plunger skill shots. No flippers
    - Arkanoid-style table with blocks that you must break
    - Pong-esque table with AI or human opponent. Powerful bumbers keep the ball moving
    - Puzzle Bobble-like table with different colored balls you must connect
    - I could also see something a bit like billiard

BTW these new random questions are too intelligent. I don't know how many English alphabet there are without checking and counting

    Default Dungeons & Dragons

I'd LOVE to see a Dungeons & Dragons pinball theme. The 80's cartoon, not the RPG. You could have missions for each of the kids and dungeon master modes and the final wizard mode would be killing Venger (the bastard had it coming!) and making it home. I never got closure on that cartoon and this would be the next best thing.

I'm sure any tables Zen release will be of a high quality whatever the theme. Keep up the good work!

IIRC they made it home, twice in fact. The first time they had to turn back because one of them was morphed in to a toad and needed magic to be cured. Second time was for keeps, and the DM came with them.
