Default Fish Tales Video Mode Slowdown

When you hit the extra ball within the Fish Tales video mode the performance can noticeably dip for a few moments. Controls, that being the launching of torpedoes, become somewhat unresponsive. The performance dip does not seem to be reflected within my frame rate read out.

I tried a couple of times and couldn't replicate this within TPA. I don't know the real machine.

Can anybody verify whether they've noticed this?

    W10 Home (x64 Build 17134)
    i7 8700K @ 4.7Ghz
    Nvidia 1080ti (Driver 411.63)
    16GB 3200MHz
    Primary: 1440x2560 @ 120Hz (V-sync borderless window in portrait)
Secondary: 1920x1080 @ 60Hz (only used to send audio to a receiver)
    In-game game graphics options maxed
    Nvidia Control Panel pre-rendered frames = 1

Yes, this happens on my PC also... I have pretty much the same spec as you except my video card is just a 1080.

I can always reproduce this. Hitting EB or BS will produce that slowdown, every time. And yes, it becomes almost impossible to time torpedoes correctly after that.

odd. that doesn't happen for me.

but i suspect it's related to the voice slowdown.

It's the EMULATION part that's slowing down and failing to skip frames. that's why you aren't getting an FPS drop.

i suspect increasing the emulation thread's priority would fix it.

    Thanks guys for the specs.

What a weird issue, there shouldn't be anything demanding there graphically.

    I'll report it.

Also, this happens if you get any extra ball on the table or it has to be the video mode one?

it has to do with lighting effects.

as i said the table itself doesn't slow at all, but for some reason too many cpu cycles are stolen from the emulation, causing IT to double up on frames.

Just to note that the issue remains within the officially released version.
