Default Bally favorites The Party Zone, Black Rose and Attack from Mars hitting Pinball FX3 i

We are happy to announce that The Party Zone, Black Rose and (you might have guessed if you follow our social channels😉 ) Attack from Mars are joining the Williams™ Pinball collection for Pinball FX3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows 10, Steam and Nintendo Switch on December 4, 2018 for $9.99, once again including classic and remastered versions of each table.

Just as dragons came to life and a fisherman reeled ‘em in for past tables, Williams Pinball Volume 2 presents remastered versions of each table in addition to the simulated interpretations straight from the 1990s. In The Party Zone, host Captain B. Zarr comes to life as a 3D interactive character parading around on a giant rocket, while Attack from Mars features a 3D-animated general barking orders as the missile launchers fire upon a flying saucer that circles the playfield. At the same time, Black Rose, queen of the high seas, swings on the mast as you loot a treasure chest and fire an interactive cannon.

With the release, also comes the option for players in the PC Steam version of Pinball FX3 to play the tables in their original form. This means family filter off by default and unaltered cabinet and playfield art on all three Volume 2 tables.

We’ve got one more surprise, the option to turn off cinematic cameras with Remastered graphics is now present in the Options menu. So you can enjoy the Remastered effects while keeping the pinball immersion of an unmoving view.

We are grateful for your continuous feedback, which helped us in improving the Williams collection and Pinball FX3 as a whole together.

    See you on the leaderboards!

I am very excited to see Attack from Mars. That along with Medieval Madness are my two favourite tables and the two I had hoped to see the most on Zen.

I cannot say I have had much table time with either of the others, but I am happy to see that Zen is branching out from what Pinball Arcade did.

Collection #1 was packed with some heavy hitters, and a great way to launch the new series.

They would burn out interest quickly if they had a bunch of stacked packs right out of the gate.

I am happy with 3-4 tables per pack at $9.99. Even if you are only interested in one of the tables it is still a small price to pay.

Will the new Steam "uncensored" mode be extended backwards to the original Williams Vol.1 tables eventually?

I’m well stoked, the tables are a perfect balance for me and best of all BR & PZ were a couple of tables I never managed to get my hands on although I did pay a crapper of a BR I decided not to buy so win win for me.
Although I would class AFM the premier table of this pack I am more excited with PZ if it plays half as good as Zen has made it look then I can see me losing a lot of my game time on that pin alone.

Zen don’t take this the wrong way as I think you have excelled once again with this pack but for some reasons I had it in my mind that AFM on enhanced mode would have animated jumping aliens and maybe animated flags near the back for each country.
Now after watching the trailer I love what you have done but think an animated Alien having a face off with the general would balance Things especially if they both act out the mannerisms of the charicters in the sound bytes of the game! One can only dream hehe.

Thanks for all your hard work you have outdone yourself yet again now roll on the 4th

I've played all tables from vol.1 and i have to say excellent work from Zen.Tables are superior in comparison to TPA.Only missing operators menu and flippers sometimes are laggy.

btw, black rose only had lightning flippers in europe maybe. in the USA it shipped with normal flippers, and was that way on every real table of it i've ever seen.

suggest that lightning flippers be on only for tournament mode. They were an option, as black flipper was a black rose exclusive part, and they DID make it in lightning. but the flyer has normal langth flippers, and so do all playfield photos i've see.

the lightning flips are a difficulty increasing option, but the game most assuredly never shipped with them on in the USA. fix it.

Sooner or later all things go to the right place...Williams / Bally rights reached the right place. Now we'll get those tables at quality they deserve.

We used an original operators manual and it lists the black lightning bolt flippers so we decided to go with those.

    Nope,

The manual uses part 20-9250-7 a plain black Williams flipper. The Black Lightning Bolt ones are 20-9734-7, this is not the same part according to the manual as you claim.

You can see people's confusion about this part here

Can y'all not look this shit up?

TL;DR ... not using the manual parts, and claiming you are.

Maybe the european manual was different?

Every manual i've seen has been the english one from the USA, and that one has the full length black flipper part.

please take a picture of the parts list for your manual, like i have done for the manual available on the internet.

    http://eunich.cochems.com/~zaphod/blackroseflipper.png

if it indeed lists part 20-9734-7, then we have proof that it was shipped that way in europe.

if it lists part 20-9250-7, that is in fact a normal length flipper, which is what i always saw on location in the USA.

I'm inclined to believe zen that their European black rose manual mentions the lightning flippers, because the black lightning bolt flipper does in fact have an official part, and it has to have been developed for that game, since no other game before then had them.

i also agree that it's too easy with the normal flippers, having played it in real life.

btw parts list here DOES list the lightning flipper.

    https://www.ipdb.org/files/313/Bally...Parts_List.txt (calling it euro flipper)

Regardless, we can't have regional variation. And as you are a european company, preserving the game as shipped in your own country is not wrong. But i would like a picture of that manual page, to settle the debate once and for all.

btw. suggestion. in remaster mode, make the pinballs black, as that's something williams originally intended to do. (they're cannon balls, ya see)

i know there are multiple manuals, as here's a picture of a European black rose manual cover.

TO settle the lightning bolt flipper debate.

The following games are confirmed to have shipped with lightning flippers in the USA (and verified by manual).

    1) Fish Tales (yellow flipper part 20-9734-6)
    2) Bram Stoker's Dracula (Yellow flipper part 20-9734-6)
    3) Dr Who (yellow flipper part 20-9734-6, but only on the lower flippers. the upper flipper is standard, confirmed from manual)
    4) Popeye. (white flipper part 20-9734-5, upper flippers are mini flips)

Additionally, the following two games are known to have had them in Europe only, according to the internet.

    5) black rose (black flipper part 20-9734-7, but most likely only the lower flippers. PLEASE take picture of euro manual)
    6) Whitewater (white flipper part 20-9734-5, but most likely lower flippers only. someone with a euro manual please take pictures)

I have played ONE hurricane with lightning flippers on it. it was the easiest hurricane i ever played. all others i've seen have had normal flippers, which is what it was shipped with.

These pinball machines were all US developed. By that argument, Black rose should have non lightning flippers, except in tournament mode, which should have the shorter flippers for increased challenge.

But Zen studios is in Europe, so it's arguable that they should use how the games shipped to THEM. Which most likely was with the lightning euro flippers.

Attack from Mars is the table everyone will score a billion on. I played it for like 45 minutes with only general pinball knowledge and without reading the manual and managed 60+ billion on it within a 30 minute game?? Not exactly sure how long, maybe longer?

Some of us will never know lol. I believe I hit about 22 billion on the old Wii U version of TPA on AFMars. I have not hit over 10 billion on xbox One on TPA yet.

I wonder how some folks do it, but I still love these games knowing I'll never be an elite player... If i beat my all time on these tables even by 1%, it's a victory. And if I trample Jay's, well even better. Kidding man.

I think this is the true appeal of this game, even before the scope of FX 3 came along. So we all have some pinball friends right, and do we have to lead on all the tables? In most cases, no. As long as we aren't at the bottom, the competition never dies.

I in no way meant to imply that Jay was not good. I just know from my own experience playing that table in real life as well as on TPA it's a high scoring table. In fact, I believe it was the first Williams table that scored over a trillion points. The highs on TPA are posted as 999 billion, but I dont know what they actually are as the digits in the display only go to 999 billion, but rolls over and continues counting............something like that. I never did it and am only remembering some trivia I read somewhere.

Haha, so true! I am fortunate in that I have a great list of pinball friends with very similar scores, so good competition for sure!

Looking back, I never would have guessed that video pinball could be so engrossing & fun. My go-to game for sure when I want to decompress.
