Default Graphical glitches on Williams tables at 4K

    Hi all,

I am in the process of putting together a 4K virtual pinball machine, and I am running into a strange issue with only the new Williams tables. Surfaces appear to have issues rendering, and they blackout.

    I am running this though a GTX 1080 Mini onto a Samsung 40" 7100.

    Notes:
1 - This does not happen when I set the resolution down to 1920x1080 in both Windows and the game
2 - The happens regardless of settings on the GTX 1080 or in-game
3 - I am using the HDMI port with a proper HDMI 2.0 cable from Amazon (have tested both a 3f and 10f cable)
    4 - Running off of Windows 7 64-bit
5 - Fully updated drivers for the GPU
6 - I have re-downloaded the game though Steam (same thing before and after)
7 - I have tested on another 4K TV with the same issues (LG 49" 4K)

Will getting a 4K Display-port to HDMI cable fix this problem? Or is it something else? Anyone else with a 4K setup experiencing the same things on Williams tables?

Please see here for an upload of the issue:

I have a 4k 3 screen setup with none of the issues you mention. I am running windows 10 with a rtx2080 although it also worked perfectly on my gtx 1080. I also have a friend with a similar 3 screen cab also running 4K on his gtx 1070 and has just upgraded to gtx1080 (my old one) again with zero issues. We both run intel I7 7700 and 7800 respectively.
I was running a gtx980 when I 1st upgraded to 4k which ran perfect but struggled to maintain 60fps dropping between 40-50at times hence the upgrade on cards

Not sure if this helps but maybe try a friends PC to help eliminate the fact it’s something PC related.

This is very helpful thank you.

There is not much out there about FX3 + 4K + Cabinet mode.

Today I am going to wipe the new system and put Windows 10 on it to see if the issues persists. Could also potentially just be a bad 1080! Amazon Warehouse deal for a reason?

it might possible be a video memory issue. you need a lot of video memory to run stuff in 4k. it only happens with the Williams tables because they have two texture sets loaded at once (to do the graphics swap).

try upgrading the video card to on with more vram.

Thanks McLovin, I have also brought this up to Akos on Discord.

I have done extensive testing over the last week to try and resolve. At this point there are really two possibilities:

1 - Something wrong with my GPU (a GTX 1080 should have no issues running this at max on 4K)
2 - Something wrong with how the program is displaying graphics on the Williams tables.

If there are two full sets of graphics for Williams tables, it would make sense that they are both rendering at the same time and causing some clipping issues. One thing I have not tried is turning enhancements on/off during play to see if it resolves the issue.

I am going to get another GTX 1080 this weekend to see if that resolves as well.

Thanks for all the good ideas everyone!
