Earth Defense - Upgrade Subway skillshot?

In the following video of Earth Defense (on the PS3), Hypno74 continually restarts the game until the launch skillshot awards him "Upgrade Subway". He then uses this to (relatively) easily lock balls in order to play Airstrike Multiball for 100 million.

Q. Is this skillshot award available on the PBFX2 version of Earth Defense?

I keep hitting that skillshot (by targeting Flip Bot with the crosshairs, and pressing launch) but have never been awarded "Upgrade Subway".

I have tried it a whole bunch of times since you have pointed it out and while I have achieved a variety of some very nice random awards the one you discussed hasn't happened yet for me.

Same here, i spent 2 hours on ED yesterday, never had the reward, plus i don't understand squat on this table !?!?
