    Talking Zen Pinball 3D

Hi Everyone! Today we announced Zen Pinball 3D for the Nintendo3DS eShop! The game will release with 4 tables from the Zen Pinball table library: Shaman, El Dorado, Excalibur and Earth Defense will all be available for the initial release. You can be sure that more tables will follow! The game has online leader boards, table rankings, multiple view points and table specific rewards for completing missions. The coolest part of the game? 3D!!! Nintendo Life has a hands on preview of the game on their site, check it out!

You can expect the game to release this fall.

    SOLD!

I'll definitely download it as soon as it becomes available. Also; just for clarification purposes to make sure I understood right: DLC confirmed? I think that might be a first for the 3DS.

Nintendo has confirmed that paid DLC will be possible by the end of the year. When it is, expect pinball DLC to follow soon after.

Ok just to clarify ... with el dorado and shaman on nintendo ... with tesla obviously in the windows 8 pbfx2 platform ....

Does this mean this exclusive nonsense is finally over and that we'll soon be able to play the original zen studios table on our xboxs ?

Say yes or face the consequences !

I am seriously excited about this prospect. Seriously considering buying a 3DS just for this game alone.

    Here's a useful link:
    http://m.kotaku.com/5840811/zen-pinb...-fall/gallery/

Sounds very interesting. 3D pinball? It's the future... But... it's now... Well... nearly... ;-)

I'm skipping the 3DS (after owning one and getting rid of it) but I'll hold out hope for a PS Vita version. That's the handheld I'm looking forward to.

After being disappointed by the port of Pinball Hall of Fame on the 3DS, I'm hoping that the frame rate isn't going to take a big hit with Zen Pinball. Leaderboard support will be an asset, but gameplay will undoubtedly be affected by a drop in frame rate from 60fps (like we see now on X360/PS3) to 30fps (which is where Pinball Hall of Fame wound up).

I'm definitely excited for the release, but there's a bit of concern as well.

Where do you bought Pinball hall of fame? Every time I looked for this game always don't have stock?

I had preordered it before release from GameStop and got it on launch day. I hear that supplies have been limited.

In germany the release date of Williams Pinball hall of fame is the 28th Oct.
Hmmm I´am be anxious if I enjoy the Williams Pinball... but whatever its a pinball game for the 3DS and I buy it
Is there 30fps because of the technic of the 3DS (the "two screens" in 3D mode - one for every eye... hmmm hard to explain when my last english lesson is meanwhile 15 years ago)?

    Hmmm yes...
I think at the ZEN-Pinball-3DS releaseday I take a day off
Hmmm did I ask when this release day is?

Now I just need to get myself a WLAN-Router or find a hotspot in my area to download this as soon as it sees release. The 3DS is already there, bought one a few days ago. Partly because of this game.

I just wondered if the physics-engine will be like the one used in Pinball FX 2 or more like in the original PS3 Zen Pinball?

What's this talk of "original Zen Pinball"?

As I understand it Pinball FX came out first, then Zen Pinball (because Pinball FX is licensed to the Xbox release?) and then Pinball FX 2 effectively being an updated version using improved game physics from Zen Pinball.

Surely though that makes Pinball FX the "original" not Zen Pinball.

I also never got on with the Zen Pinball tables, for some reason I preferred the Pinball FX tables to Zen Pinball (I have both of course).

That's one thing I am not 100% happy with on 3DS, its not going to have my favourite tables at least not at first. Although I am looking forward to the Marvel tables as they are some of my favourite on Pinball FX 2.

Quick update on Zen Pinball 3D - the game is done and ready in EU territories, we are crossing our fingers that the US version can get through the approval process in the next few days, giving us a late November / early December release. More soon...

This really needs to be released ASAP!!! Thank you for the update and all but the waiting is killing me. It's the only reason that I bought my 3ds almost two months ago and still nothing. Please tell who ever needs to be told to get there head or heads out of there you know what. Cheers...

It would be laughable if a good and polished product, such as this, got delayed; Nintendo constantly releases garbage shovelware on DSiWare and WiiWare.

Unless if Nintendo feels it would sell better on a non-holiday date, which is doubtful, this should get approved. Good luck!

It seems this is coming out in Europe next week at 4.50 euros, according to a Nintendo Downloads thread I saw on the NeoGaf gaming forum, which means it might hit the US by then as well.

I can't wait for this to get released here! FINALLY, something to buy for this thing. It's not Mega Man Legends 3, but I'm sure it's going to give me hours of entertainment.

After I played one hour I can say:

    WOW! Very impressive!

The only reason why I end the game and switch the 3DS off is: I have to recharge the batteries

The speed, graphics, the 3D effect ----> everything is WOW!

@ Zen Team: Thank you for the fantastic game - this year Christmas is at december 1st

I'm in the US and I'm sooo psyched for this game. Literally aching to play it.

Can you estimate how soon the US will get it? I mean, will it only be a few days or are we looking at a week or more of waiting?

I can't take it much longer!

    Default Thanks, Zen

There aren't any reviews yet so I took a risk and downloaded this game. Am I glad I did! It's utterly brilliant. Easily the best five pounds I've spent on 3DS software.

You've done a great job, Zen Studios. It was worth the agonizing wait.

I would have been happy to spend Ł20 on a game of this quality.

Great review always nice, its sad but reviews mean alot that some people wont try something unless its Game of The Year worthy, so when your game gets good reviews it usually means it will sell good with that crowd..

My guess is it'll be out either this thursday or next thursday. Hopefully this one. They said it'll be out a "few weeks" after the europe one. So this would make sense, and I think the shop gets updated on thursdays. Also, I think it's going to be $6.99. But those are all just estimates based on stuff I've picked up from other websites. :P

It looks like Zen Pinball 3DS is not going to release in North America until next year. Sorry that this has been delayed!

Good old Nintendo of America strikes again. This is why I refuse to buy their products.

I must say I'm very glad with this game. I hope the future will hold more tables for the 3DS, and with that I mean new Nintendo themed tables, I think new tables with the 3ds in mind will do better than porting over old ones.

    Default Helló...

    Srácok..
    Gondoltam írok pár sort..
Most vettem karácsonyra egy Zelda Limited 3DS-t.
3 órája pedig hozzá a ZEN Pinball 3D-t.
    Gratulálok, ismét kiváló munkát végeztetek.
Büszke vagyok rátok, mint magyar emberek, ilyen közkedvelt minőségi cuccot raktatok le az asztalra több platformon is.
PS3-ra is megvan a játékotok, minden asztal, kivétel a Marvel asztalok.
    Azok annyira nem jöttek be...
Hálásan köszönöm nektek a kedvenc játékom hordozható kivetülését.
Kérdezném, hogy tervezitek e még a többi asztalt is portolni?
    Tuti vevő vagyok!
    Csak így tovább!
    Max Respect!

I second the motion for system specific tables. I'd much rather buy new 3DS tables than yet another version of the old ones.

That said, I'll be so happy when the 12th gets here and there's finally something to play on a US 3DS.

I am happy to officially confirm that Zen Pinball 3D will release January 12 on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS in North America.

Table roster: Shaman, Eldorado, Excalibur and Earth Defense

    Price: $6.99

We will announce DLC plans in the near future.

Sorry it has taken longer than expected to get the game out.

That's great! Especially as I am using a US 3DS in Europe and already thought about buying a second one just to get into pinball heaven earlier...

It could be even later than that depending on where you live (good old time zones). Nintendo is located at Washington, which is PST. If you are in the EST time zone, then it's a 3 hour difference in time.

Wow. It went up for download RIGHT before I left for work. I played it on my break and it's SOOOOO much fun. This might be my favorite game of all time (almost). And I've only played Shaman and Eldorado so far. I'm going to play the other two when I got home. So excited.

How long do you think it will take for Zen to get the first tables ready now that they should be approved to do so?

    Default Dlc question

On another thread (Liers by the Pimball guy) Barbie and Crackersomeone posted that they were just waiting for Nintendo to support DLC and will be releasing as soon as able. Is DLC still not possible? It's kinda confusing.

Yeah a lot of people believe the last update gave us the ability to have dlc. I'm still not sure that's true. Of course we got the patch for Mario kart and a update for mighty switch force but that really wasn't dlc. I personally think we need one more update but I could be wrong!

Technically DLC has been available since the big Nov/Dec update. As several games in Japan have DLC already. And I mean real add on DLC. The latest firmware update from last month just allows for patching of retail games. Patching of eShop games has always been possible.

This is a guess, but most likely: Zen Studios is waiting for Nintendo to release a network/shop area within the eShop/etc where you can goto to buy DLC for different games. Kinda like the marketplace on Xbox 360. Right now, the eShop really has no area for that. So Zen Studios is waiting for Nintendo to release that area to make it easier for them to release DLC for their games. It's also possible Nintendo is holding back DLC from non-Japan games until said network is ready.

Now I'm not sure if that's true or not but it makes sense. However I do remember reading somewhere from one of the workers from Zen that its not possible right now. I believe that was in February. I was taking it in the way that dlc is not possible yet. However it just might be the network that's not ready yet! Either way its still on nintendos end and probably not Zen since you would think they want some money!

From what I understand, DLC is still not available to us yet, but we are working on Marvel Pinball 3D, which is a separate game and not actually DLC.

"From what I understand, DLC is still not available to us yet, but we are working on Marvel Pinball 3D, which is a separate game and not actually DLC."

Does that mean you're not working on DLC for the original game?

No, we are, but our focus is on a couple of other projects at the moment. DLC will happen

Ok. I keep eye on it.

To clarify: Eshop games will have limited DLC. For Zen, it's easier to release DLC when there are 2 different pinball games. So Marvel pinball gets marvel DLC and Zen pinball gets Zen-original tables. Good for us, good for Zen!

Still waiting very patiently for DLC. I'm always checking that update button every Thursday on the Eshop.

You don't really need to do that. If there was ever an update for the game, you would be alerted first thing whenever you opened the eShop.
