Gah, lookin at the collection of tables you talk about, they're all the ones I really think are well laid-out, but through poor synergy (perhaps just a lack of engaging dynamics, such as mission modes and random variable effects) - they just feel... Plain. Almost easy, even if I don't do so well.
Or rather, I feel like I don't do well, because they don't challenge me into wanting to do well.
Does that make any sense?
I think capt amer has one of the best "floor plans" or layout designs, no contest; but I still don't ever have a whole lotta ambition to play it. It's kinda a bummer, actually.

CptAm would be exactly the kinda layout I'd use for a calvin n hobbes table. I just lightbulbs galore go off in my head when I thought about it
