I would love to see a Roman Empire themed table. There was a very basic one in Last Gladiators Pinball on the Sega Saturn that I used to love playing, even though it was super simplistic by today's standards. There are lots of built-in mission and mode ideas and tons of historical material to work with there.. Coliseum, Aqueducts, Senate etc.. Best of all there's no licensing to worry about either.
It would be great to see another historical society represented on a PS3 table like the Egyptians, Greeks, Aztecs, etc.
A Sherlock table would be pure love. Unfortunately, I'd probably be so busy drooling over any table images of Benedict Cumberbatch that I'd have an inordinate number of ball drains. LOL A general Holmes table would be pretty awesome too.
For a few more unlicensed table ideas:
A Japan table. It could draw from Samurai missions, geishas, castles, famous Japanese monsters like tengu (a long nosed demon), shrines, fairytales/folklore, Mt Fuji... I'd love to see cherry blossoms blooming on a pinball table.
A steampunk table where you can augment your character with clockwork parts and devices. You have to hit some kind of crazy machine like a giant mechanical brain that's controlling the table. Steampunk vehicles could play a part in certain missions.
A table that changes seasons as you play... Set it in a world where time doesn't run right and must be fixed. Certain missions are linked to each season.
My suggestion would be a new view: a top view with a vertical scrolling (like Pinball Dreams/Fantasies) as I'd love to play this way. It would be an important addition, and not so difficult to do.
Oh yea, and we need a supaplex table (or at least boulderdash)
KISS!!
Ok, I'm obviously biased, but do remember that they were one of the first (if not the first) bands to have an actual pinball machine back in the 70s so it's not a total stretch.
When I look at some of the Marvel tables, I could totally envision a table with the band members on the table doing things that could either be performance related or character related. Maybe the real band members could even provide the voices for their virtual selves.
Plus, KISS has thousands of licensed products that doing such a table would likely not get hung up with that sort of complications that can arise with other franchises. Oh a KISS fan can dream, can't he?![]()

Don't know if it's been mentioned and if it hasn't I would be very surprised. But what about a Star Trek themed table? There's a franchise screaming for some pinball! Heck, you could do a table for each incarnation. What are there 5 different shows? The pinball could be a photon torpedo you have to hit klingons, romulans, borg, or whatever with. You could even do villian tables where your mission is to take out the enterprise LOL! Great idea, and I know some Trekkers who would *%$@ themselves to get their hands on them.
Family guy
God of War
Uncharted
Tekken
Guitar Hero
After some thought, I am really hoping one of Zen's mysterious partners is Capcom. We could get an Okami table (that would be sublime), Mega Man (again, awesome), Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Ghosts N' Goblins, newer Street Fighter or Darkstalkers. They have some awesome properties that would translate well as pinball tables. I know it wouldn't be a completely new partner since we already have a SF table, but more properties from Capcom would be great.
Personal Nightmare & Elvira
Tales from the Crypt
Weird Dreams
Chambers of Shaolin
Indiana Jones
Star Wars
Jaws
Back to the Future
Gremlins
Speed Racer
James Bond (Thunderball)
Evil Dead
Shinobi
Playboy
Dead or Alive Xtreme
Werewolf Themed Table
Hammer Horror Themed Table
Congrats and thx for all the cool tables so far, keep up the good work.My only request, beyond the recent and more kid friendly themed tables like Plants vs. Zombies, Epic Quest and the Marvel tables(which are all fine), is to throw in a few tables that are a bit more edgy and perhaps more adult oriented in their design. But as said, keep on rockin!
Would Zen Studios ever consider doing a D.C Pinball (ala Marvel Pinball). Superman, batman, wonderwoman, the Flash, a justice league table, brightest day, darkest night. These could all be pretty cool tables.
I'm hesitant to add yet more licensed ideas to the list but I must give Godzilla a shout. You could have the Big G battle his various foes like King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla and have him stomp various cities around the world. Another table that would make me weak at the knees would be Pac-man. I can picture a table based on the original looking really cool with the rails/ramps/bumbers looking like the neon blue maze. Perhaps a mode where you have to collect enough pills to turn the ball into a powerpill which in turn can destroy the 4 ghosts.
A couple of non-licensed tables I'd like to see have already been mentioned several times, Western and Sports. You can have all kinds of themes for a Western table, a gold mine, rustling, railroads, cowboys vs indians, sheriff, saloon. A Sports pack would be great. A soccer table for universal appeal, football or baseball for American fans and maybe the other 2 tables a bit more left-field for a different colour palette and machanics. Darts, horse racing, 10-pin bowling, athletics etc.

Ratchet and Clank definitely have my vote as it is my most wanted table. Though a LBP table would be great too. It would be cool if the table would start out looking cardboard box like and change through out play via pop up tool, just as in the LBP games creation modes.

Insomniac recently revealed a few of their cancelled projects. 1080Pinball was one of them.

I got reminded of the pinball tables in Sonic Adventure and the many incarnations of the Casino Night zone over the many years. But I would really love to see a NiGHTS into Dreams table. I would sell my worldly possessions to see one as I'm a massive NiGHTS fan.
I even couldn't sleep because of the idea and kept thinking up what it would be like:
- Paraloop mini-orbit
- A long dash orbit with rings in leading to Blue Chip bumpers.
- There'd be rings on various ramps and the dash orbit to pass through, passing through them and hitting blue chip bumpers in quick succession builds up a chain combo.
- Definitely has to have a spiral ramp around a clock tower model.
The main objective would be to collect all 6 Ideya by performing missions.
Completing the mission means you collect the Ideya (shown in the middle of the board)
Some mission ideas:
Giratana (timed): Hit a random target that switches every 10 seconds, then collect 50+ blue chips before performing a paraloop.
Reala Multiball: 4-balls, Hit a random target that switches every 5 seconds with one of the balls, do this 10 times. Mission fails if 2 balls are lost
The final mission has to be Wizeman obviously. No idea how it would play out though.
One sub mission could be to rescue Nightopians, hit any of the lit ramps/orbit and then perform a paraloop. The more saved, the higher the bonus. Each ramp can only be used once.

Welp...now that Disney owns the Star Wars rights and Zen has already made some Marvel tables (which Disney also owns the rights to), why not do a 6 table pack for Episode I-VI?![]()
Bring it!!!
Some further table ideas:
The Black Hole (thinking of Disney)
Labyrinth
The Dark Crystal
Die Hard (further sequel coming up next year)
Prometheus
From Dusk till Dawn
King Kong
The Thing From Another World
A music themed table using and incorporating original tracks from a small band who would be willing to license them.
A real time table that incorporates daylight and nighttime changes, possibly also random rain, fog, snow, etc effects.
Possibilities are endless really, so many cool options.Once again i don't mind playing the more kid friendly designed tables but i hope more edgy tables can be released in the future as well.
A general question: Is there any kind of rating restriction in Zen company policy, is nudity/violence, basically an R-rated table even an option?
Probably just me but i think for example an Evil Dead(also remake coming up next year) table with some splatter vfx or whatever comes to mind would be pretty cool.
Last edited by ALH2012; 11-01-2012 at 10:52 AM.
The table's content has to be E-10 equivalent, but that doesn't mean that they can't make a tribute table on an R-rated movie or an M-rated game. They made a Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 tribute table after all and that game is rated M. It just means that the table art and table concept/content have to be clean.
That's a bummer and limiting.Shame really, i'd be down for more edgy tables(not exclusively but as an alternative providing some variety), seems like a cool unexplored niche market to me.Perhaps some other company will tackle that someday but in a perfect world Zen should be the ones to do it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dark Crystal! And From Dusk til Dawn!
Cool!Does that mean it is in the realm of the possible that we might see those tables someday?!
I mean From Dusk till Dawn is exactly what i'm talking about when i say a bit more "edgy" tables.I don't know if the words Titty Twister(a FDTD table without a huge Titty Twister logo would be kinda pointless) alone would defy the rating restrictions of the Zen policy but beyond that i think the table could, if need be, be done relatively ratingsfriendly.
Beautiful thread and what amazing ideas.
How about myths and mythical figures? Chimera, medusa, cerberus, gryphon can make a great story for a table.
Since it is ZEN studios, may I also suggest, a table about feodal Japan, with ninjas, samurajs and shoguns. All perhaps around one of those state of the art zen gardens in Kyoto.
Keep up the good work back there in Hungry. You are simply masters at what you're doing.
i know this is really a stretch and highly difficult to happen but once marvel's license with Zen runs out, i would love a set of table based on DC comics
i just really want a captain marvel/Shazam table
Also a gathering of fossils might be neat. A T-Rex, Velociraptor, Alusaurus and other mighty 65 million year old beasts could do a table. What I would love to see though is a journey through our own solar system, visiting every planet and collecting scores.
Well I'm full of ideas, problem is most of them suck, so lets stop this here, for now.
When talking about the unknown... Anything is possible.
Dinos are always coolHow about you get to choose between two balls before you start (ala Avengers), a carnivore and a herbivore, then certain tasks will be tailored for each. Eating, finding shelter, escaping/attacking the opposite eaters, etc...Add in some meteor showers in the background and it's done

Transhumanism, nanotech and the technological singularity event might deliver some interesting themes for tables. Be sure to not make them xbox exclusive. And as i've said before i'm kindof getting sick of screaming hulks, i need more female voices on my future tables
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transhumanism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity
grand theft auto table would probably sell quite nice espically since the next version is on both platforms
Nothing needs to be a XBOX exclusive!![]()
I've said it before and I will say it again. I will never purchase a whole new console just to play tables that are on that platform. Even though if they are considering that they are putting Tesla and other tables that are on the PS3 on Windows 8, I would think they could do the same for PS3 with the 8 or so tables not available for the PS3.
I can understand exclusivity but, pinball is a small market. Why be exlusive to one console? I know they said they never said they wouldn't but an official answer of 'Yes we Will!' or 'No sorry we can't!' would be better than 'We have may requests and has been discussed' or 'We never said we Wouldn't' Etc. The Question will pop up all the time. Sorry to Nag but I just would like an official answer.
I know I will purchase all tables made by Zen and any tables even if they are older tables I would be happy to play on my PS3. Great Job Barbie and Zen. Can't wait for Civil War and the other 12+ tables that are in the works. Sounds like and exciting year for 2013.
Here're some table ideas I'd like to play in Zen Pinball:
Clearly at the top of my list, since I can't get this to work properly on my PC since ages:
- Pro Pinball: Timeshock! (if you don't know it, have a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDkoUXrGngw)
Some movies I'd like a table on:
- From Dusk Till Dawn
- Nightmare On Elm Street
- Alien
- Sin City
i have begin to replay on sam & max of Telltale, and thinks this would be cool a sam & max table based on the three seasons.
Late for the party, but I just had to register to reply to this thread.
I love most of the ideas, great job guys! There are four ideas that caught my attention in this thread:
Mother Nature. Awesome concept. Love it.
IT Lan Janitor. This made me giggle. Would be wicked.
Doctor Who. It would be hard to decide which doctor i'd like to see though.
Chambers of Shaolin. (I would assume you mean the classic 8/16 bit game?).
I kind of like this idea. I would take it further though. As a long time martial arts movie fan (foremost old school kung fu), there are a few ideas that come to mind:
- The Iron Armour technique
The point with this style is that (usually) the bad guy has protected 107 out of the body's 108 pressure point (of which 36 are paralyzing and can cause death). There are eight levels of breathing techniques that gives the practitioner control of the air circulation in the body. There is however one point, the breath gate, that must remain open/unprotected.
Ideas on how this can work can be seen in movies such as The Invincible Armour, Born Invincible and the Shaw Brothers classic Executioners from Shaolin (In which the bad guy can move the breath gate around, illustrated in the movie by a manuequin with paths linked between the pressure points, and the main hero dropping pinball like balls through it in order to find the bad guy's weaknesses).
I'm not very good at explaining this so I guess it would be clearer watching said movies, if for no other reason, for the great visual styles in them.
- Hung Ga (Five Elements style specifically) kung fu
Based on the Chinese elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Metal, and Wood taking their animal forms with Dragon, Snake, Tiger, Leopard, and Crane. I'm pretty sure some of you have seen this particular style in action by Jackie Chan or any movie picturing the Chinese folk hero Wong Fei Hung.
- The 36th Chamber of Shaolin
This Shaw Brothers movie (and it's sequel; Return to the 36th Chamber) about a boy sent to the Shaolin temple to practice was most likely the main inspiration for the classic game Chambers of Shaolin. My vision would be something in the line of practicing hard in each of the 35 chambers, starting out with mundane tasks such as carrying water barrels until reaching a high enough level to be able to enter the forbidden 36th chamber to win the game.
- Any table based on the Yuen Woo Ping (and brothers) over the top fantasy fu movies Shaolin Drunkard/Taoism Drunkard would blow my mind off this world. You will know what I mean if you watch them, especially Taoism Drunkard. Just watch this short clip:
Actually, when it comes down to it, for me, any cheesy and badly dubbed old school kung fu table would suffice.![]()

The movie Cube, could do a pretty table.
A safari table with all elements at the zoo can do... lets call it Tiger Theme.
When talking about the unknown... Anything is possible.
i think transformers would make a great pinball table ( i'm not a big fan of Michael Bay transformers so for me the stern table is kind of ruined by that)
so make a table about Transformers G1, T fall of cybertron, Transformes prime or even the IDW comic run
make the table work with sides that you can chose at the begging of the ball, and the ramps shift and transform changing the table depending if you chose decepticon or autobot, give each side their own set of missions and one special multiball mode for each one, and every time you finish a mission you lock a ball in a especial area, once you finish the mission the balls transform into a especial hard to reach ramp (also it could move slowly to increase the difficulty) that is required to hit a certain amount of times for wizard mode.
what do you guys think?

One word.
A-L-I-E-N
I would love to see a mech war theme. Transformers is a good suggestion, but a cheaper license such as Zone of the Enders (aka ZOE) would work as well.![]()
eeey a fun idea would be a whole new pack of tables based on legendary and nostalgic, digital illusions pinball dreams and pinball fantasies.
When talking about the unknown... Anything is possible.
Me too! That's the most hilarious suggestion ever. Just imagine soundbytes of Rose trying to outwit McGuyver. It's fantastically insane!
I loves me some HB cartoons. I'd also adore a Studio Ghibli table. Howl's Moving Castle, Porco Rosso, Nausicaa, Castle in the Sky... oh so many choices.
I'd love to see a SimCity style table where different shots and missions control the way your city is built and how it does. Missions to mitigate disasters, ramps and targets that have to be hit right to level up your buildings to things like skyscrapers, a city that builds itself around the edges of the table.

Some very interesting ideas here, for me a sci-fi table would do the trick (as there isn't any at least in Mac platform), but to be honest, any new table will do because you guys at Zen are awesome.
Some of these have already been mentioned:
Back To The Future
Alien
Dune
Blade Runner
I second the steampunk, Aliens and Blade Runner. And throw in cyberpunk.
PSN- LeeStone71
Not sure how popular these shows were but I sure liked them. Lexx and Farscape, both had lots of great characters and both took place inside living spacecraft.
Most of you are probably too young to even remember, but I would love to see a table with the TURRICAN theme.
When talking about the unknown... Anything is possible.
my ten cents...
i think some obvious choices, probably already mentioned, would be sports-themed... some of them play hand in hand when it comes to a pinball game.. golf, baseball, basketball, football... it wouldnt be terribly difficult to come up with some Zeny & creative ideas for them... a military-themed table would be good for all of us patriots... its a shame that licenses are expensive and time-consuming, potentially limiting creativity, but there are tons out there that would be good... Serenity/Firefly... Spartacus... Walking Dead.. Mission Impossible... etc...
Also, I would like to request the PinballFX tables be released on PS3 for those of us who don't play on other platforms.
PSN- LeeStone71
I second those that suggested a kung-fu themed table, think there could be some interested mechanics and missions worked into it.
A samurai/ancient Japanese themed table would also be cool as well as a Western themed one.
For Marvel pinball I would love to see a Daredevil table and a Black panther table.
Just something off the top of my head.
Original ideas:
I am a big fan of the colorful tables cause they are so pretty so here are some ideas i would love to see
CIRCUS!- You could have lots of colorful clowns, circus tents, lions, elephants, a Ringmaster, trapeeze, fire breather, jugglers,
UNDER THE SEA - with lots of colorful fish, a deep sea diver guy, corals, exotic plants, a scary shark, sunken ships, a sunken treasure chest. Mermaids.
BUGS- lots of colorful insects, butterflies, beetles, grasshoppers, etc, in a lush plant landscape.
Liscensed ideas:
The SIMPSONS
DRAGONBALL
NARUTO
KIDS BREAKFAST CEREAL CHARACTERS - Like Lucky Charms, Trix Rabbit, Rice Krispies Snap Crackle and Pop, Cookie Crisp cop and crook, etc.

Why am I thinking of this skit from "Who's Line is it Anyway" when I read this?
Combine the Feudal Japan/Samurai theme with a Wild West/Cowboy theme.
Since we have Marvel, and by extension - Disney, the only other licensed idea I have is based on old Mickey cartoons like Steamboat Willie.
Other than that, something based of surreal art, that would be fun.
Ideas :
- A table with modern colorful silly naughty little monsters (furry, big mouths, big eyes and big feet) and 1950's pin-up girls.
- Something with a small ship injected in a monkey's body to cure him from intelligent dangerous world threatening viruses (can be cartoonish)
- Air racing themed (stunt planes) . Main charachter is a tough british with a fairly large chin and a mustache and of course he has a nemesis (red baron alike guy)
- Christopher Columbus theme. Discovery of far new lands. You need to get a ship, a crew, find some land and make a settlement.

Leif Ericson is not fictional and the historical record is unclear on whether or not he actually discovered North America whereas the historical record of Columbus's trips to the Americas is well documented and led to the general European awareness of the Americas. Just an observation. Any explorer themed table would be cool with me. Though I would prefer a pirate themed table with famous pirates like Kidd, Teach, Bonny, etc.
I wasn't serious when I said that. I was joking. Sarcasm isn't my best suit.Oh and please don't get me started on Columbus's trips to America to a land where he "found" on mistake that was already owned by Native Americans. I really don't want to stray off topic here.
I would love for the PSN to have a pirate themed table seeing as Buccaneer more than likely will never see a PSN release.

How about a game centered around someone sitting on the couch playing pinball.
The left orbit could be chips and the right orbit could be dip. "Hum, chips and dip, what a wonderful combination".
I really like the suggestion of a "Back To The Future" table, I think that could be really good.
The only suggestion that springs to my mind is "Scott Pilgrim vs The World". I reckon the devs could have a lot of fun with that one. Oh, and put it on Xbox as well because I don't have a Playstation.![]()

Nobody saw an Indian boating to Europe to tell there was a big ass plaque of land at the other side of the ocean
Columbus on the other hand showed Europe that big ass piece of land.
But I agree... buying 20 million hectares of land for a mirror and some plastic stuff was wrong. Allthogh the amount of land in hectares ripped off native inhabitats would perfectly fit a jackpot bonus on a pinball table.
Ripping off land is wrong, but earning a equal amount of bonus from a pinball mission is fantastic.
I say lets build that table and dedicate it to the penguins, the martians and the grandmother who make an itchy sweater every Christmas over and over again.
