Just a question, I'd like to know if Attila Heiger has signed some music, or if all tracks are from Star Wars ?

Well, in gameplay elements, I tried to capture the feeling of real life pinball machines. There are shorter time limits, and less lanes to hit, so the game became quicker, which is awsome I think. I like it a lot

Yeah, I've been wondering about this one, too. On the Empire Strike's Back table, I see a ton of copyrights for John William's score in the outlanes lol. Maybe certain sound effects, and maybe more on the tables like Boba Fett where such themes shouldn't be existing yet?

The voice work/effects are a mix of original movie stuff and our own.

Figured you wouldn't solely rely on the original stuff but it is very cool that some of it got worked in.This just keeps getting better and better!Bring on the release!!!

I think you guys will be really happy with these tables. When I played them, I was seriously blown away by how cool they looked/sounded. They really stay true to the movies and characters while bringing a new experience. Does that make sense? Haha

And I am happy to hear that it will be finding it's way to the Wii U. I think it took extra time because it had to run the blockade set up by the Trade Federation.

I just hope that it's not going to be another damp squib, like Plants VS. Zombies was.

That wouldn't be so bad for a 3 pack. Wasn't Civil War $2.99? Marvel's Avengers and Vengeance and virtue packs of 4 was for $10 each. I guess it's the Star wars license that would allow for a 3 pack to be $10.

Cool to see a designer/developer is posting here also! Things have changed while I was gone

Ik also think these Star Wars packs will reel in some new Zen fans as well! Which is only good!

    Thanks.

I was courious to listen what Attila could make on this pack... now I know what to expect !

I understand this choice for ESB and Clone Wars, but when Lucasart told you to make something different than 6 tables for 6 episodes, and take a choice on characters like Boba Fett, it would be really interesting to take Attila in the team.

Absolutely. When I was 5 years old I loved SW. But when I turned 11/12, got into skateboarding and music and got out of all the kiddie stuff i Liked. Plus, the newer SW are not as good as old IMHO, I think most people would agree. So it's so cool that you guys got permission to make a Bobba Fett table for example. Let's hope we see an Ewok table. Who agrees with me on that one???

Star Wars will always be a timeless classic for me, in terms of the prequel trilogy I did thoroughly enjoy Episode III - that saber duel at the end was such an epic duel.

I agree. My favorite dialog from the prequels:

Obi-Wan: You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them. You were to bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness.
    Anakin: I hate you!
Obi-Wan: You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you.

Lord please let those lines be in a table.

HAHAHA You all really have made my day.

Barbie due to foreseen circumstances, Jar Jar will not be making an appearance here at the Zen forums.

@Snake- You are the man. LOL I love that pic and its sooooo relevant. Hahaha

I am so stoked! I hope two of the upcoming tables will be based on The Star Wars Christmas Special and the two made for TV Ewok movies (the one with Wilford Brimley rocked!) Throw in an Ewoks cartoon one too and it'll be fur ball heaven.
Time to sing the best cartoon theme song ever:
    "We are the E E E E E E Ewoks and we're living in the forest trees!
We are brave and we are bold, like or story tellers told,
We are strong and we will fight, and we will stand up for our rights!
    "We are the E E E E E E Ewoks and we're living in the forest trees!"

    I can't believe I remember that.

Will Porkins from Ep 3 get a table?

Default Question for one of the developers

First off I love you guys' work and am super excited for the new table. I was wonder with all the work it must take getting the new tables ready is there still work being done to fix bugs on existing tables? I'm also curious if there are any tables that you guys have decided that no more work will be done on it maybe because any issues are seen as only minor ones? I know on the ZP2 and 3D forums we have threads where we can post issues we've come across and knowing which tables might get addressed and which ones won't would be awesome.
Thanks and keep up the great work. I've already set aside some money for you.

Default Star Wars Pincab & Multiple Monitor Support

I'm getting ready to build a Star Wars themed virtual pinball cabinet using all the best parts (46" LED LCD Playfield, 32" Backglass, REAL DMD), including force feedback (no pun intended). If the yet unannounced wider PC release of this game contains multiple monitor support such that the playfield and a backglass can be on separate monitors, I think I will shed a tear of joy!

And I know I'm reaching here, but if by some miracle they also included DMD support (see an awesome little device called PinDMD), I will be beside myself!

Pinball everywhere is the company line, right? Well, is it 'everywhere' if it's not taking advantage of the very cabinets purpose built for the job? I mean, what better way to showcase this game in all its glory?!

So for the record, I'm more than willing to be a tester if either of the above is under consideration. Would love to be able to use my cab to show off this game. I think it would not only grab the attention of a whole legion of pinball cabinet builders out there, but also would draw new attention to the hobby overall. I mean, you know all the 'gadget' sites out there would be all over it if they saw this game running full-tilt (pun sort of intended) on a purpose built, themed pincab.

I think that could be the standalone table.I would imagine that Pack 2&3 will each contain A New Hope and Return of the Jedi.Phantom Menace will be addressed, one would imagine with emphasis on the podrace.Revenge of the Sith will probably also be in play.So that's the original and the prequel trilogy covered, as well as a Boba Fett table and a possible Yoda table.I'm just guessing here of course but that would leave two optional tables left.I would like a Padmé Amidala table just because i think picturesque Natalie Portman on the flipper display is a good idea. There is not enough femininity in Zen games! But that could also be worked into one of the prequel tables. So what else?Perhaps a specific Endor, Hoth or Death Star table.A Han Solo table?A Palpatine or Vader table?
What i really want is an Admiral Ackbar table. That would rock my world! If it is still optional please Zen, consider it!!!

I'd really love to see a Rouge Squadron or X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter table. Jedi Academy or something along those lines would be awesome too. I could easily see a KOTOR table too.

I would guess there's going to be a table that follows the story line (at least loosely) for each of the movies. That would leave 4 character-specific tables starting with Boba Fett. Then maybe Yoda, Darth Vadar, and Han Solo? I guess there are a lot of options..

Well in the interview with Neil, he said that that's what they were kind of originally going to do, but Lucasarts said no, make some cool unique tables instead of the "let's make a table for every movie" route.

I mean, you know all the 'gadget' sites out there would be all o

I'm deliberately holding off doing my cab till I see what OS Zen decide and how many screens they'll work with. The 2 screen with pindmd2 would certainly be the go if supported. Star Wars will certainly be added along with every Zen table they come up with.

Now this is something that I would really enjoy. I got other tables in the past but didn't found so appealing. I always didn't knew what the story is, what I have to do, never found some guides... but Star Wars is a familiar universe for me

I guess that makes sense. Its probably easier to focus on a certain setting or character than trying to capture the story from a whole movie.. like having a Death Star table or an Endor Adventures table kind of lends itself well to pinball. I'm just imagining what the wizard modes could be.. there had better be one where we lead the Rebel assault on the Death Star in one of these tables!

EDIT: Ok, I'm sorry but I have elaborate on the Death Star assault wizard mode that's running through my imagination now. It starts out as a 4-ball (or more) multiball and you have to keep the balls in play as you shoot ramps/orbits to evade the laser cannons and TIE fighters.. maybe even having to complete some drop-target banks to take the TIE fighters out. During this time the DMD would look like the view of the X-Wing traveling through the trench. As you get closer to the required number of shots you would hear Vadar saying "The Force is strong with this one..". Once all of the required shots were completed the DMD would change over to looking like the targeting camera view and tell you to lock the balls in some sinkhole to destroy the Death Star. Then of course you would hear Obi-Wan say "Use the Force Luke" right about then. Once the final ball in play was locked you would wins the wizard mode and the DMD would show your X-wing fly away as the Death Star exploded in the background.. Ok I've probably let my imagination run too far here lol..

I did just see the footage of the Clone Wars table table based on the animated series, that playfield looks nice aesthetically.

Here's an interesting article that has had hands on time with all 3 tables.

Love the idea of different stages during each scene in Empire Strikes Back. Might be the most popular of the 3 pack but it's too early to decide that.

Sounds like the Boba Fett table is going to be pretty interesting. They didn't say much about Clone Wars than other than it appears to be difficult rule set. Very intriguing indeed. Can't wait to see more info released for Zen on each table.

Hopefully they'll release a trailer for each table each week before the initial release which is a little more than 2 weeks away. End of February is a little more than 2 weeks away. They did say the end of February right?

I think even one of the first three is neither and based off of the cartoon (movie, Tv?,) "The Clone Wars."

Good article, for sure. Neil said in the Up at Noon interview that they are shooting for "around the 27th, I don't know" lol

Anyways, I REALLY hope these don't get delayed, but if they do, I know it'll still be worth it.

Indeed. Even so I really hope they stick their word that it will be released by the end of the month. In the meantime, I need to hone some skills and refresh myself with all the tables If I will take a crack at Fracas's tourney starting this week. Don't think I'll be able to participate though. I've been so busy with work and it's a good thing. I'll still try to find some time playing Zen pinball when the Star wars Tables come out.

    From Article
In one gameplay mode designed to mimic Han Solo's potshots at Darth Vader on Bespin, a virtual version of the Sith lord will rise from beneath the table surface. If Vader is fired upon with a ball, he'll simply Force push the ball out of harm's way, crushing it.
Oh Can't wait to see this.

I really wanted a table that featured Lumpy and Bea Arthur. COME ON, It is *canon* after all!

To be fair, X-Men is my second favorite table outside of Blade. Not to mention, I've already had all of the trophies on ZP1 and MP. It wasn't so hard to do it again on ZP2.

Like shogun Mentioned, they're aiming for 2/26 (27) But who knows. Big shot and Scared stiff for PS3 should be out tomorrow so it would give you another 2 weeks to get $10 for SW pinball. Assuming of course it is $10 for the pack. as all packs for Zen have been $9.99

Will this pack be released on psn asia? If so, would it be too much trouble to release Fantastic 4 and Civil War tables at the same time? Thanks.

    Grand Admiral Thrawn!

I was happy to hear that the Lucas people wanted you guys to go mess around with the expanded universe stuff.

(Still very hopeful for some more original Zen tables, by the way. As much as I adore the pre-Jar Jar Star Wars material.)

Thanks for sharing. It is the first time I noticed the unique location of the some of the flippers. Both the empire strikes back and boba fett tables have flippers near the outlanes. And I guess I never really paid attention to the fact that the clone wars table was based on a cartoon. i thought it was based on the movie. I didn't even know there was a star wars cartoon.

The final mode in the Boba Fett table is Hunt for Han Solo, that's awesome. For the missions (bounties), you get to choose the difficulty, a huge +! That's a really sweet feature. Loving the live moving tentacles of the Sarlacc! Man, this table definitely looks the coolest to me lol. I liked how they mentioned on the Empire Strike's Back table about how Mark Hamill looks exactly as he should, so it looks like they got the rights to actor's images and stuff haha unlike The Avengers table, sadly. If you beat a phase on a mission in the ESB table, and you lose the next phase, you'll continue where you left off when you load it up again. Sorry, this post has no structure, I'm just excited and posting little things I saw in the video as I go lol.

Wow, what a great read! Looks like Star Wars Pinball will later see a standalone release "on Sony's platforms shortly after launch" with some really cool features, I must say! I wonder if this means we should wait and buy the standalone release, then import them into ZP2? I don't know, I want both, but not for double the price, of course (wonder how that'll work, kind of like Marvel Pinball style or not).

Indy may be in the horizon, but it's far off if anything, as they are taking it one step at a time. Original tables are in the works, but for now, Star Wars is first priority.

Man, I can't wait for these tables

Hey Barbie, if you buy the star wars tables for the zen pinball app on iOS, will you be able to get those tables for free for the standalone star wars pinball app? I'm guessing the answer is no but I thought I would ask anyway.

I don't know, I want both, but not for double the price, of course (wonder how that'll work, kind of like Marvel Pinball style or not).
I'd really like some clarification on that too. If we get the tables in ZP2 will we be able to import them into Star Wars Pinball later or vice versa?

And my favorite quote from the article was when Mel Kirk said, "Any comments about balls have all been new recordings", lol.

The best part about the article for me is that Zen is working on original tables I would love it if the original table releases are alternated with the Star Wars tables. This is not meaning that I am not really looking forward to the Star Wars tables... all three of the first ones looks really great.

Very cool feature. I'm sure for those of us that like a challenge you can go ahead and make it difficult for you. I'm sure the rewards would dictate how many points you get etc. What a great feature for novices and pinball wizards alike. Might like this table a lot.

Empire strikes back really looks impressive with the different stages of each Scene. That Stormtrooper fight seems annoying but it's all straight forward to me. Oh and to choose which lane the ball comes back through is an interesting feature. Both these tables sound really fun.

Don't want to jump to conclusions on the Clone wars table. It does remind me too much of World War Hulk with all the ramps. This table might be sleeper but After the ramp spam that I felt with WWH, I'm hoping this tables will surprise me. After all I was disappointed because Iron Man was a challenging table and the designer made WWH which I thought be a step in that direction but I was taken by surprise that it wasn't that difficult.

That padawan fighting the droids looks like an interesting mission. You may still need to be accurate and get a flow of combos in order to defeat the robots.

Overall it looks like a solid pack and they said end of February in the vid so I hope they keep their word.

Yeah, the ESB table looks like a more classy table, meaning more old school looking (at least to my eyes), but it has some interesting stuff to go along with it, should be a fun table...As for the Clone Wars, I too had thoughts of the obvious amount of ramps that this will be the ramp spammer of the pack Hopefully not, I hope it'll have some cool elements without so much ramp...well...spamming.

Zen Pinball 1 is no longer supported. Any new tables released will be releasing on the Zen Pinball 2 format. Also if its a Marvel table, then the table will show up and both Marvel Pinball and Zen Pinball 2. So basically any future tables (Star Wars, etc) will be on Zen Pinball 2.

Star Wars Pinball will also have a standalone format like Marvel Pinball for all future Star Wars tables. Still, they will all show up on Zen Pinball 2.

Whoa.....standalone format also? That's awesome! Hope the trophies are all different like they did with civil war in zp2/marvel!

I think all we need to know now Barbie, is will the standalone Star Wars tables have an import feature for the tables If purchased in zp2? Please say yes!

Unfortunately there's no cross entitlement for mobile (iOS/Android), sorry.

Honestly, what's the point of this? Is this required for some sort of licensing deal? Personally, since ZP2 is a free download, what's wrong with simply including them in ZP2. I'm personally not a fan of multiple games for the same table on the same platform... I understand why you did it for Marvel Pinball (likely contractual since Marvel was out first), but why Star Wars? Is it always going to be like this? At the very least, must they have separate trophy lists???

I'm asking the same questions. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Better advertising, I suppose. People will see Star Wars pinball in the store, buy it (not knowing anything about ZP2), then later find out about ZP2 and all it has to offer. Or, for the sake of Star Wars nuts in general, the menus and features will certainly catch their fancy. I don't know, it does seem a bit odd considering it'll be a separate release which means more money to do so, but I think with it being Star Wars people will notice it better, especially the Star Wars nuts. Something along those lines.

Has barbie confirmed that there is going to be a standalone Star Wars pinball app for "Sony's platforms" as mentioned in that article that Beard posted below? I know she has confirmed it for the mobile platforms. And I know that various news outlets can mess up release dates and other info so this may or may not be correct for the ps3/vita.

I can understand the motivation behind having a separate Star Wars pinball app. Especially for digital marketplaces like the iOS app store where it is easy to get lost in an ocean of shovelware. Like others have said, having a separate app gives Zen a better chance to advertise the new SW tables to those who may not be familiar with Zen Pinball or digital pinball in general. Everyone knows Star Wars! And it probably gives them a better chance of being featured in the app store and actually making it into the top charts.

But it leaves us "hardcore" (for lack of a better word) players in an awkward situation. This will divide the pinball community because both apps will not share leaderboards. And for me and I am sure others here, we like to compete for high scores. I am currently 4th in the pro score leaderboard for ZP on iOS. If I buy the standalone app, I am sure my pro score will go down for the ZP app. But I like competition and I have a feeling that more people are going to buy the standalone app. And I refuse to buy the same tables twice for the same platform. Zen already gets plenty of money from me because I triple dip on the PS3, Mac, and iOS platforms. So it leaves me in a strange situation. Which SW tables do I buy, the standalone app or the tables for ZP? And if it true that the ps3 is going to have a standalone SW app as well, which should I buy? Or will we be able to import SW pinball into the ZP2 app for free on the PS3 platform? It is all very confusing.
