Forum signatures

I find them too big and they make reading the forum less enjoyable - is there a way to turn them off?

I hate them too. I find them distracting. Click settings in the upper right hand corner then click "general settings" in the left pane under the My Account heading. Then scroll down to thread display options and uncheck the "show signature" option.

This removes all signatures from displaying, but you have to be logged in for it to work.

Thanks very much – just what I was looking for.

Mainly I am reading at work with the internet compressed to a small window in the corner of the screen.

For reasons of discretion I don’t want to be scrolling through endless anime characters and cartoons.
Im far too old for that – I just want to focus on the adult stuff like pinball and Star Wars.

No need to be martyrs, guys. Have the flashiest sigs and avatars you want. We have the option to hide them. Some of us don't like viewing them but we have the option to not display it so everybody can be happy. When I'm at work or at home, I don't need the hassle of trying to explain why I'm looking at pictures of cartoon girls on my iPad.

Martyrs? LOL Well if someone is offended by a sig, then I respect it and take it down. Even if I think it's miniscule! To be honest, I was ready for a heated argument because I believed the whole sig ordeal was a shot at me since "anime/cartoony" was mentioned. (honestly it was a shot at me because no one else has one on here in the forums that I've seen) Also being "too old" for something like having a signature was something I took a slight offense to. Since I know I can argumentative, I decided to just nip it at the bud and take it down. No offense to you at all, Surf. I understand everyone doesn't like sigs and that's fine. I don't have a problem with that.
