Thumbs up What is the maximum possible points one can obtain?

OK, I remember playing Space Cadet Pinball which came free on Windows XP. In that game, the maximum possible score was 99 million points. When one has reached that figure, the points revert back to 0.

However in FX2 Pinball, I would like to know what is that maximum points. Is it infinite? Or is it 99 billion points? Anyone has any idea?

    Thanks!

No one really knows, since no one has ever maxed out the score before. Tables with DMDs (dot matrix displays) can easily go into the trillions on scoring and Pinball FX 2 is no exception.

Yeah, well-designed modern games tend not to have that problem. I don't know what language or database they're using, but as an example, a 64-bit integer in ASP.NET can be up to 9,223,372,036,854,775,807.

Good luck getting a score anywhere near that high.

Wow! Thanks for the information guys! This will motivate me to get at least 99 septillion points! (That is 10 to the power of 24 zeros!)

    LOL!

On further hindsight, if your calculations are correct, the maximum possible score could be 9 quintillion or 99 quintillion. So it is not possible to get a septillion score. (I got carried away in my previous post. )

So theoretically when about a quintillion score is reached, the score would revert back to 0. Just like in space cadet pinball.

Yeah, but remember he just gave you an example. He doesn't know what language or database structure Zen used for the game. Your "septillion" could be quite possible.

Either that or the game crashes.

Ouch ! That would suck after a 36 hours play to get to the quintillion ;p
