Default Pinball FX2 is slow / laggy on my PC - help!

I was running Pinball FX2 for quite a while on my gaming spec rig, with no problems at all. One day, an update (perhaps), or something else affected the game, and it is SO slow and laggy now it is basically unplayable. I just upgrade to an even faster GPU card, it didn't help.

    Windows 8.1 64-bit
    Norton 360 AV
    Malwarebytes

(I've scanned the PC a dozen times for malware with different scanners, appears to be clean).

This is a very high end, ASUS gaming rig with all top of the line components, it can run the toughest games on the market in full FPS mode for the most part. Scores very high on 3dMark benchmarks. This is a monster rig...why can't I run a simple game like pinball?

It's annoying that all of a sudden Pinball stopped working, maybe it was the 8.1 upgrade? I keep hoping a new NVidia driver will help, but it hasn't.

    Nvidia driver version 337.50

Appreciate any suggestions or advice! Thanks in advance.

    Angry Same Problem

Hi. Me too have the same problem. My pc have great hardware for games, and this "simple" game run slowly. I discovered that the problem started when i installed the "important" update KB2919355, without this update, the game run normally, with this update, the game run slowly/laggy. This problem persist in all versions (including x86 and x64) of windows 8.1 with KB2919355. My spec are:

Windows 8.1 Pro x64 up to date (with KB2919355)

    MB: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P
    CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1075T 3Ghz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Kit 2x4GB 1600Mhz
GPU: Sapphire (AMD) Radeon HD 7850 2GB OC Edition
Primary HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB HDD (for windows)
Secondary HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 2000GB HDD (for my personal files)
    Sound Card: Asus Xonar Phoebus
Display: LG D2343P 3D Cinema Monitor
    Keyboard: Genius GX Gaming Manticore
    Mouse: Genius GX Gaming Gila
    DVD Burner LG.

I installed all updated drivers and nothing changed. I tried with old drivers and get the same result. I tried several settings and the result is the same: the problem is KB2919355.

Any that know how solve this issue (or error) with this information? Thanks.

I've seen instances where the graphics card stays in the low power / desktop mode, or a built-in graphics chip is used instead of the dedicated card kicking in (e.g., Nvidia Optimus technology not handling things correctly). Since you don't have the latter, maybe it's the former. Although that Windows update you mention seems to be causing performance problems in LoL, so who knows.

I'm using driver 340.43 with a GTX 680 and an i5 2500K, Win 8.1 Pro with all latest updates.
